Musk buying Twitter was always going to be a benefit to society. Either he would turn it into a true free speech platform, or he would crash the whole thing into a ditch and make it unusable. Win/win, iyam. I would have preferred a true free speech platform. Easier said than done, but I thought he may have the capabilities to do it. I'm not so sure now. I'm sort of rooting for it to collapse at this point.

How do you know he won't make money 3-5 years from now? He's cut expenses to the bone. Next step will be hiring someone to be day to day CEO to build it back up in a much leaner fashion. Third step will be to take it back public.

Do I think he will make $$$? No, because he overpaid vastly. Tech valuations have been killed during this Biden inflationary presidency and he bought almost right at the peak of the valuations.

He can’t focus on the day to day and still give time to Tesla and SpaceX. But he will impose his will on all three and they will most definitely be doing his bidding, for better or worse. All in all it would appear it’s for the better based on long term valuations and results.

Just a few days ago he deleted tweets and suspended journalists who linked to a mastodon account that was tracking his plane ... after Musk had deleted the same account from Twitter. So yeah, he's kind of censoring people.

It'll go into bankruptcy. Somebody -- not Musk -- will snatch it up and build it back into what it roughly was before Musk's hubris got the best of him. It's never going to be a huge money maker, but run well, it can turn a consistent profit.

Ehhh...they weren't showing an accounting profit, but Dorsey and co. got rich before Elon bought it. They built it up from nothing, went public, and then it was overvalued specifically because of the monetization issue. They never had to figure out how to monetize it properly because boy genius bailed them out. Not sure about Twitter going into bankruptcy or what the future holds, but seems like Musk is going to eat the losses of all the problems from the past.
