Ehhh...they weren't showing an accounting profit, but Dorsey and co. got rich before Elon bought it. They built it up from nothing, went public, and then it was overvalued specifically because of the monetization issue. They never had to figure out how to monetize it properly because boy genius bailed them out. Not sure about Twitter going into bankruptcy or what the future holds, but seems like Musk is going to eat the losses of all the problems from the past.
Twitter isn't a social media company as much as it is a data company. Facebook, before this stupid ass META initiative, was great at monetizing data.
Twitter doesn't need visionaries like Dorsey and Musk running the company, they need someone who knows how to run a data company....
