RIP Twitter

Oh Elon. Rubbing liberals raw everyday but they still plugging in his car every night

Your take is to think of that as an insult. It would be more accurate to say that liberals are committed to EVs and will deal with the devil in the short term to make it work.

Besides, I'm sure that if they were boycotting Tesla, as you infer they should, you would be decrying their attack on businesses for political reasons.

So injecting emotion into a science and physics driven business decision is the liberal approach to decision making? We agree for once.

EV's are horrible for the environment. People really need to pull their head out of their ass on this

I think "test drives" are a thing of the past. Most people today know what they want in advance.

Different subject, different thread.

I get it if you're familiar with Honda and you're buying a Honda CRV. Who would buy a car as different as a Tesla at that price without test-driving it? I doubt many people.

I have never bought a Tesla. I have bought all my vehicles of the last 5 years without a test drive. Salvage auctions don't allow any test drives.

Well, that depends...

Do they have pink and green hair and scream about Trump? Or growl "how dare you" at the United Nations?

Bet they don't go for a test drive in their Tesla... I mean, until Elon turned into literally Hitler after buying Twitter.

Sure, but that's a very niche secondary market. You wouldn't be paying near blue book for salvage because of the kind of operation that it is, which is the same reason you don't get to test drive.

I know. It’s a difficult stance for them to be in. Of course I’m decrying their attack on businesses for political reasons. COVID lockdowns say hello. Deal with the devil in the short term is more like deal with the devil in the long term. Shuttering fossil fuels for wind and solar with no nuclear power in your equation then you have no solution. I think I remember Biden saying ten more years for fossil fuels. Well buckle up.

the state of modern journalism.

notice the title - the disaster response function that Twitter played is broken. read the article and exactly zero examples of the role Twitter plays in disaster response actually have failed to function. there's speculation about what "might" happen and some suggestion that more blue checks breaks the whole thing.

many readers will adopt the headline and treat it as truth

This is a pretty good pod series. I didn't know where else to put it. It's the guy who started Nikola. He's a financial fraud and a cheat, so I'm not saying he's Musk, but it was kinda funny that he had this multi-billion dollar auto co. named after the same guy and he gleefully spent significant time arguing with faceless people on the internet. Interesting story.
