Twitter did pretty well under Dorsey for the most part, right? Dorsey was out by the time Musk bought them. They lost $220m in 2021 but they paid like $800m in a lawsuit that had been going on for 7 years. So over a 10% profit margin without that suit...they paid with cash and then Musk contracted to buy them the next quarter.

Look if you hate Twitter then don't use it ( I don't use Twitter) but a tech platform that was essentially state run media is not good for free speech. I knew you lefties hate that. When musk was attempting to buy Twitter one of his contentions was the amount of fake accounts. Now every time he does something in an effort to curb that (account verification) you tools do what you always do and post drivel about the platform being on is last leg. It is not. Elon is a very shrewd business man and it's way more likely than not Twitter will be wildly successful, whether it remains in it's current format and name or something else.

What you don't know about twitter could fill a warehouse. You think it's a free speech platform now? You haven't been paying attention. Saying the academic term "cisgender" can get you suspended now. Name one free speech policy more nonsensical than that. He's laying down for despotic governments, like Turkey. My buddy who got kicked off Twitter in an alt-right troll algo purge before Musk took over has still not been re-admitted.

Musk only raised the concern about fake accounts when he was trying to weasel out of the terrible contract he agreed to, because he's such a shrewd businessman that he passed on doing due diligence. That's real. That really fkn happened.

Fake accounts are a problem, but there is such thing as the cure being worse than the disease. Twitter is more confusing than ever. The suggested posts I get are rarely useful to me. And now we're having severe, unprecedented outages in a rare time when I actually want to scroll the platform.

Lol there was already verification. Lmao. Twitter employees were being paid to hand out the blue checks. Perhaps you are ahead of the curve in when you purchase something you feel like you should never negotiate a lower price. Car dealerships must love you. Lastly and most importantly if you don't like something don't let it consume you. I know you lefties struggle with this. But it's not good for you.

You really don't understand the way it works do you?

No cloud storage, no Twitter. They didn't build that capacity, they buy it from Google and now they can't pay their bills.

But you quote Elon saying they're on the verge of making a profit as if it were the gospel truth.

Have never done Twitter so don't have a dog in this hunt, but do know business. First sign of trouble is not paying your bills.
