RIP Twitter

This is the equivalent of people across the country having a problem with a particular Sony TV, and then an army of people without TVs show up at the customer service office like “I KNOW ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ABOUT THIS BUT SONY CAN DO NO WRONG”

Lol. As I have stated I don't use Twitter. But several people I associate with are not experiencing what you are on their Twitter account. Maybe you are. But maybe not

You: he said there was a big problem with fake accounts
Me: yeah, he SAID that when he was looking for ways out of a bad deal, and you believed it
You: so people should just never negotiate??????????

Rocks are smarter than this, maybe sit this one out

Are you suggesting that in the same situation you would not have tried to negotiate a better deal? Really is getting large sums of money from you that easy?

The rate limit may not matter to them if they only look at Twitter for 2 minutes a day, but it affected pretty much everyone that uses Twitter in a meaningful way. These jokes happened for a reason

And hell even light users seem to have noticed nothing loading this morning

How is this what you took from what I said? Lol where did I say don’t negotiate? If someone is negotiating, that’s even less reason to take everything they say as fact

What you don't know about twitter could fill a warehouse. You think it's a free speech platform now? You haven't been paying attention. Saying the academic term "cisgender" can get you suspended now. Name one free speech policy more nonsensical than that. He's laying down for despotic governments, like Turkey. My buddy who got kicked off Twitter in an alt-right troll algo purge before Musk took over has still not been re-admitted.

Musk only raised the concern about fake accounts when he was trying to weasel out of the terrible contract he agreed to, because he's such a shrewd businessman that he passed on doing due diligence. That's real. That really fkn happened.

Fake accounts are a problem, but there is such thing as the cure being worse than the disease. Twitter is more confusing than ever. The suggested posts I get are rarely useful to me. And now we're having severe, unprecedented outages in a rare time when I actually want to scroll the platform.

Due diligence? Is due diligence equal to Twitter saying that internally we have checked it out and it backs up our contention of number of fake accounts? Come on Lefty you can do better.

LOL

This is the joke I was referring to, but not showing up above because, guess what, Twitter isn’t working

I did not say it was possible. But who knew that @NashVol11 was as meaningful as the Pittsburgh Pirates

I said “everyone who uses Twitter in a meaningful way,” meaning “people who use it for more than 2 mins,” not “people who are meaningful who use it” lol what are we doing here

Your point is that you, a person with no Twitter, think everyone is just making this up? Lol

Thousands of Twitter users complain of issues with social media website and app

Who knew volnation had a tech billionaire user. And people who are on here with a political grudge against the new Twitter owner are where you draw your citation? I contend the truth lies somewhere in between.

I could care less what happens except I am interested in how these transactions are structured and how they end up.

Don't own a Tesla, never had a Twitter account and if I paid a quarter million to go to space my wife would no doubt test the efficacy of our prenup. So except for his support of legal cannabis, our paths don't cross.

Elon stans are so weird. I love twitter and all politics aside, he is destroying it and it’s a shame to see. They’ve got no hope of turning the ship around either unless he sells because no one wants to work at that toxic, understaffed dump anymore in the tech community. They’re mostly down to foreign engineers who cannot afford to quit due to their visas.

Is Elon endorsing restricting voting rights to parents? Thoughts?

He didn't say that.

Childless or 10 children, at least 8 out of 10 in each group don't give a **** about saddling the future with debt. They don't care about the future more than they care about themselves. Musk gets more $ from the taxpayer than NPR for Tesla and SpaceX.

Probably true, but I think the crazy thing here is that he pretends to he a knight in white shining armor trying to keep twitter as a "public square" type space for all opinions (he was really just ticked off they suspended him or whatever), but he seems to want voting rights to restricted based on lineage.

I don't think he was ever suspended.

It's Twitter saying that and Company's independent external auditor reviewing and verifying that figure since Twiiter reports it in their SEC 10K and 10Q as a KPI....

Elon could never prove his fake account theory. Tech valuations crashed and ge had buyer's remorse. He couldn't get out of the deal....

Look at First Horizon and TD. TD agreed to buy First Horizon but while the deal closed, TD had several avenues to get out of the deal (for a fee). It could be regulatory issues, misstatements or misrepresented items from FHN, or just pure buyer's remorse.

The valuation of banks changed plus some buyer's remorse and TD decided to back out of the deal. This is how most large deals are structured....

Compare that to Elon. The valuation of tech companies cratered in 2022 and Elon understandably had buyer's remorse. He had done no due diligence. Unlike TD, he didn't have an out in his deal so he came up with the fake account idea. He couldn't prove it and he got saddled with a 40% inflated purchase price....

Saw an article linked through Drudge that Meta is about to launch its service to compete with Twitter. Insiders are calling it the "Twitter Killer." Evidently it is designed to exploit the unpopular changes at Twitter.

What is going on with Musk and Zuckerberg? Did one of them kick the other's dog? This is looking more like a grudge match.

I would guess this is business and not personal. This is how he operates. He "stole" the idea for Facebook. He bought Instagram out, and made Reels to copy TikTok. He's just trying to make Meta king.

As far as I know, the fight suggestion was all Musk and all Zuck ever said (hilariously) was "send me location."

I was skeptical at first, but the way Twitter is headed, could Meta do any worse?
