I don't "slobber" anyone other than my wife, but as a physician and student of science, I can appreciate a brilliant mind and inventor. Aside from owning X/Twitter and some rent-free space in your head, Musk was partially or mostly involved in the development of: SpaceX, Tesla, Starlink, PayPal, Neuralink, OpenAI, Hyperloop, Gigafactories . . .

Can you name a contemporary with a more astounding resume?

For certain, if any of the many patients I care for who have autistic spectrum disorders accomplish anything even close to the scale of what Musk has done, I will celebrate them as well.

The gov't through capital gains taxes has done very well with their investment in Tesla. So going from 0 to 800 billion market cap has led to hundreds of billions of revenue for federal and state govts...

Because when Elon bought Twitter the liberals had a meltdown not seen since Hillary's fireworks were cancelled. Then the liberal MSM wrote many articles about how he overpaid for it and they took a victory lap when Twitter went down in value. Meanwhile Elon is now worth more than the day he bought it and the Democrats lost a major mouthpiece where they could censor any stories that could hurt the Dems in the next election like they did in 2020. Twitter now has free speech and is not a liberal echo chamber spewing fake news like Hunter's laptop being Russian disinformation and Joe never talking to Hunter about his criminal behavior with Russia, China and Ukraine. Twitter can go bankrupt and Musk still comes out ahead.

Hundreds of billions in revenue?

If I buy a Tesla, I can get up to $7.5k in tax credits. That seems to be enough to offset most/all tax revenue associated with a Tesla purchase. Where do the hundreds of billions come from?

You get the 7,500 if you buy any qualifying vehicle, not just a Tesla. Tesla doesnt get the money, you do. Again, the 7,500 was pushed through by the Ds the very poorly worded IRA.

If an asset goes from 0 to 800 billion, that's a ton of capital gains (20% plus state) or ordinary income (over 50% in CA or NYC) every time it is sold.

Given how often its been traded, its in thr hundreds of billions of tax revenue..

Honestly, I personally dont care for him and the math still doesnt work for most people who own a Tesla....
