Sorry for that... I was being a d**k.
Press Briefing by Press Secretary Jen Psaki, April 25, 2022 | The White House
"In the same way tech companies should be able to protect their intellectual property while also following certain safety standards that we as a country — not just them — have agreed are necessary for the greater good."
Maybe the people who own the publishing rights are liberals. Then both assertions are correctWhat you're talking about is not a good example of cancel culture.
Last October, some select works of Dr. Seuss were pulled from circulation by the executors of his estate... This was not initiated by liberals in a book banning drive; but instead, a decision made by the people who own the publishing rights to those works. There is a big difference.

What I can tell you as a general matter: No matter who owns or runs Twitter, the President has long been concerned about the power of large social media platforms, what they ha- — the power they have over our everyday lives; has long argued that tech platforms must be held accountable for the harms they cause. He has been a strong supporter of fundamental reforms to achieve that goal, including reforms to Section 230, enacting antitrust reforms, requiring more transparency, and more.
Why is Psaki STILL conducting these briefings when she is admittedly in ongoing contract negotiations with MSNBC, one of the press outfits questioning her daily? Does the Administration not even PRETEND to care about ethics anymore???Press Briefing by Press Secretary Jen Psaki, April 25, 2022 | The White House

I'm for all free speech, whether I agree or not. We don't gotta make up a scenario for what I said. I'm just stating a fact, the same side that was all for banning anything against their opinions, are now mad and whining, cause they're afraid they're going to have to see a different opinionIsn't there a flip side to this coin?
I mean, wouldn't it also be hilarious if the people who once cried "FREE SPEECH!" were now reveling in seeing some liberals banned, just for expressing their viewpoints?
It would be a shame to see Twitter overrun by conspiracy theorists like Reddit was in 2018 by the Q Anon nuts. Twitter was a better platform than that for a long time. I don't see how it's avoidable now. It's pretty clear that it's not going to be moderated anymore and will become a free-for-all.I have such a problem with ALL of this. Right or left. Don't care. Social media is whatever and if you're an idiot enough to buy into it or get info from it that's on you.
FEDERALIST NO. 1Barack Obama said social media is 'turbocharging some of humanity's worst impulses' and called for reform to Section 230
Ugh…. One of the most dangerous ideals in the history of man
Yeah it needs to be FREE for the select few.It would be a shame to see Twitter overrun by conspiracy theorists like Reddit was in 2018 by the Q Anon nuts.
