RIP Twitter

oh lawd - a new kind of justice; algorithmic justice
The stupidity knows no bounds.

They'll say this out of one side of their mouth and say those same billionaires need censorship/fact-check authority (and that we should all pay attention to "legacy" media which is owned almost entirely by these same billionaires now) out of the other.

Yes, that type of customizing.
People brag about blocking opposite view points. That in itself is creating an echo chamber. I’ve been blocked in Twitter by several people by disagreeing with them. Goodbye opposing opinion, no discussion, no “ why do you think that way” just instantly blocked.
If you aren’t willing to take what comes at you after throwing an opinion on the public floor for debate and block opposing opinions then you are not there for honest debate but validation.

which of these musings by him do you think are "concerning" and relevant to his ownership of Twitter?
Give me a break.

If Jack Dorsey had said this crazy $hit, while he owned Twitter, the right-wingers on here would have had a field day with it .... and Donald Trump would have as well.

... but because Elon Musk is "your nut job", then it's not even worth mentioning. This is where posters such as yourself reveal a bias.

Weakness and fragility are hallmarks of being a leftist.

Look no further than most of the left-leaning posters here.

I’m still waiting for why it matters and how it effects your Twitter usage. All you have is shallow party cult political rhetoric but no actual semblance of logic here

He's not my nut job. I agree with his stated goals for Twitter but I can take him or leave him personally.

You began this by stating he holds theories that are concerning and that was part of the your assessment that his Twitter ownership is problematic.

Can you explain the link between any of the things in your links and his Twitter ownership being problematic?

He has no actual response. I’ve asked him three times now

I honestly can’t remember laughing so hard at something so insignificant . You could fill a dump truck up with the amount of irony and hypocrisy that all of this is producing . I’ve never been a fan of Uber wealthy people ( I think they are all dangerous ) but if I was one, I’d be a lot like Elon just because I could . He should tweet out a list of “ Companies to Buy before I Die “ with Twitter checked off and Net Flix next one up . 😂
He could add NASA to that list as he's shown it's basically obsolete now as well when it comes to rocketry.

Ding, Ding, Ding, we have a winner! So much of SM is just about this, find somebody who agrees with us so we're right......

The only way to send a message of concern with this change is if there is a mass exodus from the platform the day after such a change has taken place. There will be an alarming number of deleted twitter accounts this week. This will send a message to Musk, that nobody wants that platform to become reddit. When (and if) it becomes clear that isn't happening .... then most, if not all, of the people who deleted their accounts (like myself) will rejoin.

I haven't had Twitter in years now so it doesn't really matter to me, but this seems like a really bizarre overreaction to delete your Twitter account over a change in ownership. Musk is a very intelligent and impressive human being. What about him is so concerning to you that it warrants leaving the platform?

The relevant links are in post # 1,328 of this thread. I notice that you never answered my question.

Aside from the sources being s*** none of it says he’s crazy. His thinking outside the box has been what’s made him so successful and an interesting person.

It’s called a meltdown feelings/lack of logic move for no reason. Instead of waiting patiently to see what changes are put into place and then determining how they affect you, it’s time to scream at the sky.

I think we need to be fair here and give the run of the mill liberal the benefit of the doubt. Most wouldn't support banning a conservative for a difference of opinion. They do support banning a conservative for bad behavior and they probably don't mind the double standards at Twitter, but do you really think BB is somebody who is saying "ban him because he thinks homosexuality is a sin" or something along those lines?
I honestly don't know, but he sure seems upset that there may be a different opinion allowed than his now. That's my point on anything, I don't think anyone should be censored for their opinions, whether I agree or not. You've never seen me talk about canceling anything, or boycotting. You've also never seen me fuss about ball players kneeling, despite how I feel, they have the right. Some people are all for rights, as long as they believe the same way, both sides. A few are just going overboard with their tantrums, and knowing their posting history, it's hypocrisy, and funny.

Those 4 sources are

Business Insider
Money Control
India Times
Futurism

... but hey! If you want more sources, that's just mother f***ing fine with me!!!! I can do many more sources! Hold on, a few minutes!!!!!!!

So if I say „cloth masks are not very effective in Stopping the transmission of covid“ (not necessarily saying that but makes a good example) have I Just expressed an opinion which can be objectively judged as either truth or lie? Before you answer, realize that my assertion of course doesn’t define „very good“. Maybe I mean 33%, maybe 50, maybe 90. so how do the fact checkers at Twitter determine if I am lying or not? Note that they censored thousands upon thousands of Tweets making this same claim.
If they censored a tweet that said "cloth masks are not very effective in stopping the transmission of COVID", then at least in hindsight, that seems like it went over the line.

Lol. Don’t work too hard on trying to prove a point that doesn’t exist or at worst isn’t relevant.

Like that racism is systemic and is the cause of every POC’s problems and that “homophobic” people and Nazis are literally all over waiting to murder people? That kind of known lie?
Yep. Luckily I've never heard anything even remotely similar to that lie.
