Risk your job for an interview?/bc actually fires their coach(merged)

If there's an underlying problem, then BC needs to get that out there. This is a program-killing move.

Could Fulmer be the next head guy at BC? Do they hire non-Catholics there? I read this on Basilio's blog and found it surprising:

Here's a possible scenario for you on BC. Who's one of Fulmer's closest friends in administration? Why it's Gene D the AD @ BC. Who recommended the hiring of Dave Clawson @ UT? Gene D of BC. Who owes Fulmer one big time? Why it's Gene D of BC. Who is the one guy who could bring Fulmer back to the semi-big time after his crash and burn @ UT? Why it's Gene D of BC. In the immortal words of the Swamp Rat himself, 'there you go!'

This is the dumbest move I think I've ever seen an AD make. If I were the BC president, I'd go over the AD's head, publicly announce that the coach wouldn't be fired merely for interviewing for a job at the highest level of the profession, and probably can the AD himself. They're never going to get a good football coach to work for them again.
A) I concur
B) I love the new avatar

What morons. Unfreaking believable. I hope coaches now recognize BC for the dead end job it apparently is.

Ya, he lost... We'll see. BC just pulled a really stupid move. Watch them follow it up by hiring Fulmer.

When I heard this I thought this late in the game where do you go to replace him? I seriously doubt it will be Fulmer.

I don't blame the AD one bit. He found out about the interview from a reporter and decided not to play the game.

if he wants to hire a guy who will never talk to an nfl team he'll basically have to hire a guy who just isn't very good. it's part of the game.

I bet the AD never expected he'd interview for the job after he made that outrageous claim that'd he fire him... must of thought it was fool proof. Then he was probably like... "Oh @5#!, now I actually have to fire the guy so I don't look like a moron and keep my word."

I'd be surprised if there wasn't more to this story than we are hearing.
