Rivals Team Rankings

Milton - 4 star - I think we will get him soon
Pat Harris - 4 star per scout
John Brown - 4 star per scout/ 4 star in HS
Bruce Irvin - I think he has a good chance of becoming a 4 star, just needs more exposure (freak athlete)
Michael Palardy - Its a joke he isn't a 4 star and should be come signing day
Fulton has a great shot of a 4th star
Broussard has a great shot of a 4th star also, has been injured a lot, not much to evaluate him from except for his early years in HS, also freak athlete in recent combines
Jose Jose (if he drops weight and has a good senior year) should pick up a 4th star

I also believe we will have a 4 star RB by signing day. Only missing pieces are a few more OL, a quality HS QB, and a few stud LB's preferably Jeff Luc

I think we will make a late push once the season starts and these kids actually see Kiffin's product on the field..

I really hope we pull in Milton soon..

I know it is early, but we really don't have that many great committs so far. Not even ranked in the top 25, and recruiting is supposed to be our strong point. Not worried yet, but we need to start bringing the committs (especially on O).

We are 15th on Scout. Rivals' rankings are starting to be a joke...

I still don't understand why Jac isn't a 5 star. The guy is an absolute beast.

There are typically only 25-30 guys who end up Rivals 5* per class. Smith is currently #64 overall.

FWIW, he is a 5* on Scout.

Texas # 1 and we arent in the top 25

Auburn at 25, Vols at 26.

this is what i was afraid of. he comes in last year and pulls the near impossible. this year so far has been very disappointing. no QB and olineman are weak right now. the man hasn't even played a game and i'm thinking the staff is overpaid. can't really complain though he was the guy i wanted. beginning to think though he doesn't have a plan.

I hope this is sarcasm, because it is still July and he hasn't coached a down yet.

alittle sarcasm, but also i can say looking at the rest of the SEC is doing in recruiting so far, i'm alittle worried as well. this year don't see him catching the pack like he did last year. you have to remember we are picked 4th in the east this year, i know we will be better this year, but at the sametime our offense isn't really going to be improved that much to get us near the top. i don't think a 7-5 year or a 8-4 year is going to make much of a difference. i'm know kiffin is no nick saban but i really thought the way he stole all those great recruiters we would be doing better than we are.

Hah USC, has an incredible recruiting class like always.... and they are ranked 12... stanford 11...? this is a bogus top 25 list.

you are underestimating Stanfords recruiting capabilities. this isnt the traditional Stanford we are talking about. theyve stole some legit recruits from other programs, most notably the RB (? it could be WR) from OU. they will be considerably improved in the next few years IMO.

we will be fine. i expect to get Milton soon. Stone is a 4* and i expect to get him. We have legit shots at Ambles and Cobbs, both 4* recruits. a few more linemen, a RB (3 or 4*) and most def a QB will round us out to be a top 10 class again. Palardy still needs to be ranked, as do our JuCos. I also expect a few players to earn another star. i dont expect a top 5 yet though. id like some more LBs and DBs though...

and of course, rankings mean nothing in the end.

We are 15th in Scout's rankings. The reason we are so low on Rivals is cuz Brown, Harris, and Irvin are all 0stars cuz Rivals hasn't rated them yet...

I wouldn't get too wrapped up in rankings. You guys pull in great kids every year. They just haven't been getting the proper coaching as of late. Hence the change. Trust me I know all about that. Except out dumbass coach couldn't even get the talent. If more coaches just worried about football players and not rankings they might end up with better kids. Patrick Willis wouldn't have gone to Ole Miss. UT will get there players and be in the top 25 inthe end, don't sweat it. Rankings are very overrated. How many title has USC and Texas won with all tose top recruiting classes. Yeap 1 apiece.

Ranking is based on stars? That is the most biased and self serving way to evaluate that I can think of. Rivals, Scout are both self serving. Yes they have some good info but its all about getting subscribers.

i agree with this, but at the sametime the lack of a Qb olineman and wideouts is really disturbing

looking more as needed players not stars. need more olineman wideouts and a qb.

DL was a huge need we have secured that and will still sign at least 1 more on the DL. We have got 2 LBs which was also a major need and will get at least 1 more, prolly 2. We have signed 3 OL and I expect to get at least 4 more. We have began addressing the need at OL. Be patient. Do not worry at all about WRs. There are so many wideouts who are looking at UT that's it's ridiculous. We will get a QB by September or October at the very latest. Our staff is not gonna panic and just take anybody at QB. Our kicking game was also a major need in this class, and we have already addressed that by landing the #1 Kicker in the country. Our staff knows what they doing, give it some time...

any clue when they are planning to rank the JUCO's?

Probably around October. IMO, Scout's JUCO rankings are alot better than Rivals'. Rivals doesn't really go out and watch the JUCO players like Scout does. Scout has a whole site and a few guys who are dedicated to nothing but the JUCOs and their players...
