Rivals Team Rankings

Don't forget that Orgeron has a way of working Rivals to his advantage. Right now it is better to start low so that players feel they can come in as a star. Once we get closer, Rivals ratings go up to pull in the remaining top players looking to come in with a top rated class. This has been Ed's method for a long time and he has in's at Rivals and Scout that help him accomplish this. It is just one of the ways that we will pull in players, and we are not the only school that will manipulate these rankings for there benefit(Bama,USC). This is a major reason that these sites rankings must be taken with a grain of salt. College football is a business #1.

The argument that the JUCOs haven't been ranked sorta rings hollow for me because they haven't been ranked for any class. As such, any school that has JUCOs commits will see an increase in their points. So, I don't see how that alone will be able to vault UT to a high ranking.

what I dont get is that rivals has us with 13 recruits and scout has us with 14.

And 1 or 2 of the unrated JUCO's getting a 4 star rating(if not all 3 of them) will move us close to if not directly into the top 10

I don't think Irvin will be a 4 star. I think he'll stay at 3* unless he has a huge season in JUCO.

Quick question, which of our recruits are JUCOS, and while we are on it, what year will N. Lamaison come in as a JUCO, Soph? Jr? Sorry, this JUCO junk goes over my head at times...

I saw that's where they had him on Scout...I mainly follow Rivals...

It seems that Rivals goes more on potential than actual production...in which case I find it hard to believe a 6'3" 230lb LB that runs a 4.4 will be rated less than 4*...but who knows really...

Either way...if at least 2 of them get 4* status on Rivals then I don't know how we aren't in the top 10 at that point
