Got butthurt on his OV because Hubbs got more attention.

Sounds like a drama queen, then. If you really wanna be a part of something, then suck it up and go all-in. Don't piss & moan because another recruit got more attention than you. :cray:

We don't know if that is true, but he had been heavily recruited by Mizzou. This is where he ended up at. CCM had some good swings and some bad misses. A quality big is sorely missing from this class.

Indiana, Memphis, Kentucky and Kansas sure cleaned up. LSU did surprisingly well, too.

ITT

Austin Nichols is a soft momma's boy and JW3 is a prima donna drama queen. We didn't want them anyway.

Yet if they had Tennessee by their name, people would gush over them. Love college recruiting.

You're right. Honestly, I'm just bitter that we didn't land him. :)

AJ Davis will be a good player here. Tons of potential. I see Thompson being a lot like J Rich. Solid contributer who begins to shine in his Sophomore year.

How many rivals top 150 does UGA have? Tennessee? How many 5* does UGA have? Tennessee?

Yea, I don't see.

CCM has brought in 2 5* recruits (we all know that one fell into his lap). All other recruits he has brought in have been 3* or less.

Fox has brought in 1 5* and nothing else but 3* or less.

I would say that CCM is closer to recruiting with GA's level than Bama, Vandy, Fl, MIZZ, LSU, (I won't even put KY).

To be honest, the 5 star, 4 star, 3 star thing doesn't bother me as much as his seeming reluctance to recruit guys that have good offensive games. Just about every school has to take 3 star kids, however Martin seems dead set on avoiding any kids that already have an offensive minded skill set.

So CCM has 2 five stars to Foxs 1....and how many top 150 has each signed? There's a big differenc between a "Landry 3*" and a "josh Richardson 3*" IMO.

Vandy? What have they done in recruiting the last 3 years that's so special?

recruit rankings don't matter anyway....the NCAA tourney proves that every year but for some reason people get caught up all in the number of stars a player has

Yeah, the teams with the most talent rarely ever win.

To be honest, I don't know why anyone would want to play for Frank Haith. Set aside any past issues at Miami, and he is not a good coach.

JW3 should have gone somewhere else.

the ncaa tourney is like any tournament or playoff event. it has random outcomes. you cant point to one game playoffs and say one team was absolutely better than the other. do you really believe wichata state was one of the 4 best teams in the country?

The "falling into his lap" argument always gets me. People just refuse to praise others because they can't get past their criticism. I guess it's human nature.

If a player is not comfortable at a school, he isn't going there period...regardless if there is an open scholarship at mid-semester. To think otherwise is just dumb. Add to the fact that it has been said that both Florida and Arkansas had scholarships. Stokes loved UT because he had a brother and friend there, and he happened to like Martin once he took his call...by his own words. Now, let's move on with that.

Stokes entering mid year significantly limited his choices of schools to sign with. Schools recruiting him at the time were:

UCONN
Duke
KENTUCKY
Memphis

It would be very hard pressed for me to believe that if Stokes finished his Senior year in HS and watched KY win a NC and send the whole team to the NBA that he still comes to first year coach CCM. Believe what you want to but IMO he probably doesn't come to UT. Oh and his best friend was kicked off the football team last year might have an impact also. Believe what you want to, but my personal opionion is that CCM got extremely lucky getting Stokes. Not that it's not good to be lucky every once in awhile.

Way to leave off the two schools recruiting him as long as Tennessee had been and had an open spot for him...Arkansas and Florida.

While I agree with you to a point, I think you are failing to recognize the "falling into his lap part". It's not about where Stokes could have went. It's when he wanted to go that made it falling into Martins' lap. Had the TSSAA not ruled Stokes ineligible to play high school ball, Martin is recruiting Stokes the following season against...well, everyone. And UT season was in a slow spiral till Stokes arrived, so Martin probably would have been recruiting from a just barely .500 record.

But Stokes did fall in Martin's lap, or maybe a better way (and much longer way) to say it is, the combination of the TSSAA declaring Stokes ineligible to play his senior year, plus Stoke deciding to go on to college, plus UT being the in-state school and having a spare scholarship made things very favorable for Martin to land Stokes.

Now did Martin have to do the work? Yes. But the guy who hits the Powerball for $300 Million had to go buy the ticket and had to earn the money to pay for the ticket. Didn't mean he didn't get lucky too.
