Rivals Top 150

Are you? Here's your post...

You say both have signed 3* recruits, nowhere in that post do you say both signed 2 top 150 three stars...

So, basically we have went round and round over this and you knew exactly what I meant. Post 27 was a DIRECT quote from you asking me how many 3* recruits that GA has signed that are in the top 150 and the quote above was my answer to your question.

TN has signed 12 3* or less in the past 3 years. 2 in the top 150
GA has signed 9 3* or less in the past 3 years. 2 in the top 150

This sounds like a tallest midget argument to me. lol

And 2 five stars for Tennessee, 1 for Georgia, right?

Still not sure what the bar Vandy set in the last 3 years is, but guess I'm not getting an answer to that.

Let me ask you a question if you don't mind...

What will UGA and UT look like next year?

I'm not worried about next year. I'm worried about the year after that. Once Pearl's recruits are finally gone and Stokes bolts, then IMO all we have is a team that looks similar to GA last year. Well, that is if Hubbs comes close to being = KCP. Not being able to get some good 4* players to fill our roster keeps us in the middle of the pack in the SEC. That is basically what I've been saying.

With the 2 5* to GA 1 5* mixed in with ALL the 3* and no 4* then IMO we are recruiting closer to GA that we are to the top of the SEC.

I don't think it's fair to discount next year. If next year is as good as many hope, it will lead to much better recruiting...also as is, our 14-15 team appears better than this years UGA. We have two 5* to their 1 and we both have 3 top 150 3*....that's also not counting any 14 recruits we'd add. So add even just 1 five star and 1 top 150 and we look nothing like UGA.

Projecting our roster 2 years from now when there's a lot of unanswered questions about the current roster is near impossible...at least accurately.

Yes that's probably pretty accurate...I will ask, how many SEC teams have brought in 2 five stars in the last 3 years though?

I dont think anyone is discounting next season but we want to be a consistently good program.....It is worrisome that three of our five best players next yr Martin inherited....He has recruited two five star gems and a few promising productive role players but also several marginal players.

Next yrs fall signing period is barely into the season and its usually more difficult to add players to the spring signing period, Besides winning does not automatically ensure better recruiting.....There is reason to be concerned about our future.

It's not the 5* that I'm worried about. It's the rest of our roster. Having 1 5* on a team of ok at best 3* bb players reminds me of GA team last year.

Reese
Moore
Davis
Landry
Ndiaye
Thompson
Cheivous
Yemi
Richardson
Hubbs

That is potentially our roster after next year with the addition of 3 players. You might be satisfied with the ALL the 3* that CCM is bringing in, but IMO to compete to stay on top in the SEC we need much better players than what I see

Nope, but the longer this drags out, the more paranoid I become about him leaving.

Agree, but I hope whatever advice he is getting they are telling him he needs another year to refine his low post offensive skills. His rebounding abilities, although great is not enough at the next level.

Reason to be concerned? Sure. However, there's also reasons for optimism. Each of his two years the product on the floor has improved, despite losing his best player for the entire season this past year.

Also, his recruiting has improved every year, and this years class is ranked pretty much consensus top 30, if not top 25 by most outlets.

So if he continues along that path, one may be optimistic.

I agree those 10 don't put fear into anyone, however, it's still more talented than half the SEC. You add 4 guys who are talented to that group, and you're likely talking about a top 5 SEC team that is good enough to dance.

We are ranked 28 by scout, 39th by 24/7, and rivals does not have us ranked at all, neither does espn. Hardly consensus top 30 let alone top 25.

Try 29th on 24/7

2013 Basketball Recruiting Team Rankings

When rivals updates and it includes Thompson's new ranking we will likely break their top 30, seeing as how by their rankings our class will be better than their 30th ranked team, and a few of the others in the 20s.

Checked 24/7 just a minute ago and we are ranked 36th, scout 28th and no listing on rivals or espn. I don't know where you got the link you showed.

Yep, Rivals updated today. No show for UT in the top 30 as some thought. 5 other SEC schools are in the top 30. But I guess that's good enough for some since we brought in a 5* mixed in with a bunch of mediocre players and more projects to fill our roster.
