Well. From the looks of things, at least the Vols aren't gonna finish in last. So, there is that.

Remember that time our coach mentioned Omaha in his preseason press conference and we are in 13th in the SEC?

Yep, me too. So bad.

So it comes down to this.

Tennessee's magic number against Georgia is 4
Tennessee's magic number against Alabama is 4

Either Georgia or Alabama has go winless tonight and Saturday.
AND
Tennessee must win out tonight and Saturday.

So every game from here on out is an elimination game and that still may not get us through.

Vandy had a best case scenario as their bullpen is still full for next 2 games. A sweep over Alabama is more likely than Arkansas winning 2 over UGA. It just looks like Arkansas' heart is not in it.

Amazingly, if both UGA and BAMA lose 2-straight and Vols win out, Tennessee would move to 11 and UGA would be eliminated.

Well, it all comes down to the games tomorrow, Tennessee must win and Alabama and/or GA must lose.

If we win and both Alabama and Georgia lose we are the 11th seed and would play Kentucky or Ole Miss. That game is schedule for 9:30 AM on Tuesday.

If we win and either GA or Bama win (but not both), we are the 12th seed it looks like we would be playing Arkansas. That game will be played after the 4:30 game, probably around 7:30 on Tuesday.

According to SEC network Alabama has clinched an SEC tournament berth.

If they lose today they would be 11-19 and if we win, we would be 11-18..of course the SEC could be using Slive Math..which would mean Alabama is the number seed in Hoover :)

from al.com

By 3:30 p.m. CT, Alabama will know what it needs to do to continue its season. If both Tennessee and Georgia win their noon games, Alabama has to beat Vanderbilt to clinch a SEC Tournament spot.

A loss by either would put the Crimson Tide in regardless of its game against Vanderbilt. Georgia owns the tiebreaker over Tennessee.

Want some positives?

Of the three teams vying for 2 spots,

(1) the Vols have the best starting pitcher on the mound
(2) is playing the last place team at home
(3) is wearing the luckiest, ugly uniforms on the planet

my prediction

Vols win
Bama gets smoked
UGA takes their rubber match

Vandy is playing for an SEC title and a national seed. Winning a title guarantees a top-8 seed

Arkansas has an outside shot at hosting regional

So every team but Miss. State had something significant to play for.
Tennessee has not swept an SEC opponent for just over 3 years
Tennessee and Georgia play early, let's put some pressure on our competition!
