From all accounts I think he's the best player in the state, and still is somewhat underrated on the national scene.
I think King, Hubbs and JW3 are bottle-necked as best in-state, and they all play different positions, so it's hard to say which is better. Then Nichols and Johnson are probably the next tier.
Rankings for each, in order of Scout/Rivals/ESPN/247:
JW3- 18/24/16/36
King- 19/23/15/26
Hubbs- 21/11/88/12
Nichols- 58/43/30/27
Johnson- 32/45/54/45
Crawford- NR/86/NR/60
I'll throw ESPN out the window as there's hasn't been updated in awhile I'm pretty sure.
The site doesn't say, but I remember someone tweeting that it was updated recently (it contains J. Johnson, so it has to be within the last few months) and that's when I noticed where Hubbs was. Someone over there just wasn't impressed with Hubbs. It's an outlier for sure though, he should be higher.
It's a bit late for UK to get involved, even for Cal.
I'd be more worried about Duke and the other SEC schools in his list.
