Robert Hubbs SG TN '13

I live in DC and have no insider info , but with the rumors around here , i'm thinking you guys may be in good shape . I know he was at Memphis Madness this past year and he said he enjoyed that .
I think he'll try to stay in the state , but also heard Florida was in the picture .:peace2:

“@Hoopniks: Robert Hubbs heard from Miss St, Duke, TN, Ark + Auburn when communication was opened up. He said Duke, TN and Mizzou are pushing hardest.”

I don't follow basketball recruiting that much, but it sounds like if we can weather the Duke storm we should be able to get Hubbs, am I right?

Is he planning to sign in the early signing period?

I finally got to watch some highlights of him yesterday, he has a silky smooth jumper. Love his game.

My mother-in-law taught him and his siblings in Elementary school. Says he's a good kid. That's the extent of my info, but I figured that this would be my only chance to call myself an insider so I should run with it while I could. HA!

sounds good. I got nothing to contribute.

Hubbs is now rivals, scout and 24/7 five star and has even jumped king on rivals rankings.

I saw King play last year in the state againsg an undersized Blackman team and he was good but not nearly as dominant as I expected. He was playing a post/wing position and looked out of position in the post. He had some hook shots but not nearly impressive as I thought he would be

That's a big reason why, out of position. Nick king should not be in the post unless he driving or has a huge mismatch from time to time. Unfortunately with high school you get guys 6'5" or so and many times theyre your biggest guy so you put them down there.

With that said, its almost like he hit a wall a year ago. Was one of the hottest prospects in the nation and hasn't really improved at all, so while others improve like hubbs they're now passing him by.

He looked more comfortable out on the wing, he was nailing threes during warmups

This ought to give everyone an idea of the chemistry between the two I spoke of in a previous thread. I think it's a good possibility that if we get one of them we get them both.

My feeling as well, that's a fun thought. Still hope something happens and both committ early though.

In case you didn't know, it's down to Duke and UT for Hubbs' services.

Two things I noticed from the really, really short mixtape:

1) He has one of the quickest releases I've ever seen. That jumper is pretty.

2) He can get up really quick.

Dear God, I'm going to get flamed. I've seen some more tape of Hubbs, and he reminds me some of Dwayne Wade (ducks flaming).

There's a reason he has shot of rankings since going national with aau. He wasn't noticed at dyer county, now that he got out there and people saw him he made huge movements. Many sites have him ahead of king now for #1 in the state.
