Robert Nkemdichie falls out 4th floor window

How hard is it to just not smoke pot?? I mean seriously, if you had a winning Powerball ticket and all you had to do was not do drugs to claim it - wouldn't 99.9% of us be able to accomplish that?

Some of these guys are among the most stupid and/or arrogant this world has to offer.

I think it's a combination of people thinking marijuana really isn't that serious and, more importantly, ego. People think they can have it both ways and that they won't REALLY lose their shot at the NFL because of something like that.

Kids at that age have big egos and want to have fun, so I don't really blame them. But I think the synthetic stuff should be banned everywhere, because that actually has dangerous effects on people.

When you have the potential to be the first pick in the draft but your dumbass can't stop smoking weed would be a good reason to escape room if authorities were at door. If he succeeded in getting out and they couldn't prove the weed was his, it could be the difference in 10's of millions of dollars.

This theory sounds very plausible.

My only question is why was Nkemdichie smoking weed in a hotel in the first place? Doesn't seem like a very good location for that particular activity in my opinion.

Synthetic pot is extremely dangerous, addictive, & deadly. We had a friend addicted, and had to tie him to a bed the detox was so bad. My wife's brother "overdosed" on it and was put on a ventilator after having a seizure. It's a deadly substance, all because people are scared of failing a drug test.

Synthetic marijuana has been banned in a number of countries; the U.S. needs to do the same.

Like you said, it is dangerous and can have some severe side effects. There are a number of different chemical compounds that can be found in synthetic marijuana and you really don't know what you are getting or how it is going to effect you.

I agree on banning it, but just being illegal hasn't stopped people from using drugs. It boils down to making good decisions and surrounding yourself with people who will be good influences on you.

It just can't be that hard to at least wait til you sign the d@mn contract can it?

I agree with everything you just said.

Banning synthetic marijuana wouldn't necessarily keep people from using it, but it would make it harder to acquire. I don't know why anyone would want to use that crap in the first place.

You would think that with millions of dollars on the line that you would try to avoid doing something that could jeopardize your future career. Some folks seem to be incapable of making smart decisions though.

Well I guess you're just better than him then. Give yourself a pat on the back

Come on man. Would you have risked it? If you knew you had a multi-million dollar reward, don't you think you could string together 7 or 8 semesters of not smoking dope?

Man when you're that age you feel invincible. Plus for the majority of these superstar athletes the same rules don't apply to them unless it's something major. Go to UT campus any time and watch some of the superstar football players act a fool, it's just natural. They're on a pedestal and they know it

I didn't take the time to count how many he's completed, but 2/yr base plus 1 for summer would put him in the middle of his 7th as a JR right?

I was actually pondering the likelihood of anyone abstaining from much of anything for 7 or 8 semesters. :)

:cool2:

I think you're right to an extent, but there are plenty of examples of other players not doing things that jeopardize their futures. Nkemdiche is not a run of the mill college player. He has (or had) a top 5 NFL contract waiting in April that could set him for life financially.

Haha well I guess it may seem like a long time, but is smoking pot really the only way he can have a good time in college? It's not like he can't live it up in other ways.

One of my friends died washing windows on like a cherry picker device thing. The guy operating it bailed when it started rolling and my friend was in the bucket and it flipped.

Man that's awful! I was watching a TV program a couple of years back, and a window washer was in the top 10 most deadliest jobs. If I remember right, it was number 6 right behind deep sea crab fishing. Where did this accident happen at?
