Robert Reich Tells Dems to Give Kyrsten Sinema ‘the Backs of Their Hands’

No they weren't.
You guys are so desperately wanting to avoid the question.....and it's obvious why.
I'll ask again, should the Sinemas, McCains, and Romneys of the political world be respected or reviled?
Yes they were. Big time. Painted as sexist, racist, homophobic, wanted old people to starve and eat dog food. Evil rich people. The same things the left always rolls out to paint the R candidate as since Reagan

Raise your hand if you're in here complaining about how the Dems treated Sinema but you enjoyed the GOP treatment of Cheney.

Now smack yourself with that hand.
Who publicly threatened violence against Cheney. Surely you some proof to back up that statement.

But we al get Reich's point, she deserves a backhand more than a handshake.

Which did McCain deserve more after his health care vote, a backhand or a handshake?

If the problem is that they aren't in lockstep with their parties, then the answer is "respected." Methinks that's not why you're judging them.

Sinema and Manchin have been my favorite part of Washington politics the last 12 months.

Just like McCain and Romney were the best part of the 48 months before that. (Though I suppose their respective tenures didn’t cover the entire span).

Country needs more moderates telling the progs and the deplorables “no.”

It was all about someone not in lockstep with their parties.
Just in general, do people think that is good or bad; respected or reviled?
I just get amused by the inconsistency.

Sinema is voting on principle and has no reason to want to disrespect Biden. Chaney is engaged in a petty personal vandetta that has nothing to do with policy

I don’t believe they should be attacked. So somewhere between respected and reviled on that continuum, but closer to respected.

It's sad ... Dems know nothing but hate for others that might disagree with them.
Calling names and using the old bully tactics with some in your party isn't working too good.
Using such tactics are making those you're calling names & trying to shame is back firing.
Some in the Dems party see the light not to destroy what is the bread & butter for most.
But they are the "tolerant " party. 😂

They WILL and DID paint McCain and Romney as principled “good” Republicans up until the moment when they won the Republican nomination, then they overnight became the literal spawn of Satan. Then, once the campaign is over and they have lost, they return to causing trouble for the rest of the Republican Party and they once again return to Sainthood status
Same as it ever was

The implication was to give her a backhand. You can attempt to mince those words but there's a reason he took that statement down.
Nope....
Here's his quote from the article linked...
“Tonight, Republican senators lined up to shake Kyrsten Sinema’s hand,” Reich’s tweet read. “Democratic senators should have given her the backs of their hands.”

He is clearly NOT saying they should give her a backhand.

He is talking in past tense. He is making a play on words. It was unwise because it is so easily taken out of context or misinterpreted (as evidenced by this thread) so he took it down.
