Not anymore he’s not, he gets $1m retention bonus every year along with a $1m raise iirc, at seasons end when he gets his bonus he’ll be higher than Self
As I said, he turned down $12m/year from LAL, is Kansas gonna go to $15m to try and lure him? Maybe they will, but something tells me that’s not likely, especially if UCONN doesn’t have the kind of success that he just had back to back years.Per his contract, he gets:
24-25 7.75M
25-26 8.0M
26-27 8.25M
27-28 8.45M
27-28 8.65M
28-29 8.85M
All of those figures is includes retention bonus. All are less than Self is making currently (8.9M). Hurley does earn $500K for another national title and much smaller (50-250K for making Sweet 16 - Final 4)
It took him getting LAL offer for Uconn to finally pay him. I'll back off original stmt that UConn cant pay but in a world where a team gets desperate and makes Mick Cronin a Top 5 coach, does Kansas make "that offer he cant refuse"...

I just don’t get why so many of y’all think Oats is itching to leave Bama. He said no to Kentucky which is a far superior job to Texas.Terry was never, ever a long term solution for the Whorns. It wasn’t hard to see.
if I were running the show Nate Oats would be the guy I pursued first, especially if money isn’t an issue.
One day if the Knicks or Celtics come calling, he will walk there.Hurley is on record saying the Lakers could have made an offer he couldn't refuse...(Hell he might have taken it if he knew Doncic would fall in his lap)
I dont see Texas doing that (paying him more than Sark) but I don't see him as a Uconn life either....
I could see Kansas going that way if Self retires
