Quality of the experience has cheapened at the cost of the price increase. Not all restaurants but you see open tables and wait times all because they are understaffed.A lot of places are starting to pay their servers more than min wage because they're struggling to staff.
Restaurants are not fun to run right now. The prices of imports are sky high abd food costs are absolutely disgusting.
Tried that about a decade ago. Wasn't for me. There is much corruption in that system. Tenants expect landlords to lie and affirm tenants are paying their portion even when they aren't. Because most (almost all?) LL will accept state money as full rent. The administrators were professional and helpful...which surprised me.
How do u fix the rent issue then ?
Universal healthcare im strongly for . Yes taxes would be higher but not much higher and to me that’s a sacrifice I would be willing to make
Solar Power research because oil will not last forever and we need a alternative.
I’m pretty sure you’re going to hell…
Landlord system morally unethical, contribute nothing to society
First things first, landlords in general are greedy.
While a tenant must work extra hours to receive a higher income, landlords can simply raise the rent and acquire more properties to rent out, creating an endless cycle where the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.
“[A landlord] takes advantage of the tenant like a parasite while not helping the tenant,” Nagarakanti said. “Although [the landlord provides] housing, the housing cost doesn’t correspond to the quality of the housing available in regards to space and immunities.”
It happens, yes. LLs, LLCs, and Corporations who are well versed in Sec8 use that strategy.I lied. That leads me to an additional question. Is some of the rent inflation a result of poor government incentive structure.
Meaning some people are overstating the actual rent because the government pays a % and they know the tenant will not pay their share?
Odd one would think people would be outraged at googles ability to track every step they take in their daily life instead of being upset at someone that doesn’t care where they are .

Then who works in the unaffordable places?
Affordable housing is a major issue and only getting worse. I know our city is working to address it but it's not easy

Then don't complain when you can't visit resorts or eat at anything above an interstate exit chain.Goes back to the saying if you don’t like the result, change it. If you’re making $10 and hour, rent what you can afford. If you want a 4 bedroom in the nicer part of town, don’t be upset with paying 2K in rent. Be upset you’re still making $10 and hour. Change the job not requesting the rent be lowered.
I’m 100% commission and have been for close to 10 years. I view minimum wage/living wage differently as the one making $10 shouldn’t look at that job as a career. Then don't complain when you can't visit resorts or eat at anything above an interstate exit chain.
The fact is all rent is skyrocketing. No one can rent even a 1br place at the $10/hr you're quoting. Have you actually looked at the prices lately?
Who says they're looking at it as a career? Everyone has to start somewhere and people have different ceilings. Your post saidI’m 100% commission and have been for close to 10 years. I view minimum wage/living wage differently as the one making $10 shouldn’t look at that job as a career.
There is nothing at that price point. Where should they live?If you’re making $10 and hour, rent what you can afford.
Have you ever owned rental property?I'm sure property owners were doing just fine prior to the massive increases that have occurred.
Did I say it increased 100% in a year? No. I will give you an example of what I'm talking about. There is an apartment complex that I lived at in Knoxville in 2005. The rent back then was a little over $500. The rent now is over $1500. There is no justification for that except for the fact that they can.
Also if someone is a religious person then I would like to see some justification based on any religious scripture that greed is good and that it's okay to take advantage of people.

So many people think they're entitled to live in whatever part of town they want in a nice apartment.Where should they live? They should revisit their job status before visiting places to live. Or live in those areas where you can afford even if it’s not in the part of town you want.
Paid about that in 1999 living in Jersey City with a few roommates for the summer. First night there I saw a drive by getting off the Path Train. I didn’t have the money to live on the Upper East Side.Or nut up and have roommates.
I know multiple people in DC that pay $400/month in rent with roommates. Crappy apartments, but they're not homeless.
