Roe vs Wade Overturned

They started charging extra for the salad bar. Pissed off their loyal clientele. By the time they changed course it was too late. It's an example used in the industry of why you don't screw around with core equity items. Since that tragic blow they have tried to change the menu multiple times but have struck out. A former peer of mine is their VP of Operations. They are screwed.
They had the best BBQ shrimp meal. Then decided to move “healthier” aka cheaper. Got rid of everything good

I thought you and others were okay with price increases?

How much extra did they charge for their salad bar? Perhaps the suppliers went up on the price of items and they had to pass it off to the consumers.

After all their salad bar was all you could eat from what I can remember. So I'm not sure why people would get that pissed over a buck or two. Plus they aren't the only restaurant that went up on a buffet style service in the past 5 to 10 years.

Like I said before they seem to still be doing okay in some of their smaller towns. Perhaps part of their core strategy should be to focus on keeping those restaurants open and retaining that clientele and focus on retaining key staff.

Things that I personally would like to see changed

Rent control
Child support
Child care
Cheaper colleges
Universal health care
More solar power support

Obviously I know that the chances of any of those things being changed is slim to none .
Here's a great thread on the damages of "green energy"

Again proving that a minimum wage hike is unnecessary
Tried that about a decade ago. Wasn't for me. There is much corruption in that system. Tenants expect landlords to lie and affirm tenants are paying their portion even when they aren't. Because most (almost all?) LL will accept state money as full rent. The administrators were professional and helpful...which surprised me.

Quoted you 2 just to say wassup. Nothing to add to your (as usual) well thought out posts. Would love to get together with yall and a few others for a ballgame and drinks this season. Read so many of yalls thoughts over the years that i feel like we have been buds for decades. Go VOLS.

Fantastic post . What do u believe is the right answer to the impending oil shortage tho ?

I remember talking to my stepdad about oil and gas when he was young. His dad was a mechanic as was my stepdad. He said in the 70s there was talk about the world running out of oil. His dad said he heard the same thing in the 50s.

The gas station nearest my house starts at $18.75 an hour...for HS kids that need to work 3 part time shifts a week....fast food rpund here starts at 19 or $20 an hour. Some with $1000 sign on bonuses paid after 90 days....

This is in Charlotte NC...very similar to Knox in my experience.

There are no more 10 bucks an hour jobs. Double that.

I've never said it was a right but rather it shouldn't be impossible. Cities and towns are doing everything they can to make it so. They want the labor but not the residents. We see how that's working out for them
Are they doing everything to stop it or are those who are wanting not willing to work for it?

The shortage is self inflicted. Open it back up like trump did, oil is priced based on the future. Get the pipes back under construction. I don't mind incentivizing green energy but it shouldn't come at the cost of killing oil unnaturally. Right now, the solution is way more damaging so we aren't there yet.

Globally, China and India need to adjust if you're truly worried about emissions.

Haha, the crowd isn't that bad. I used to drink here before buying it.

Definitely prefer drunk late night karaoke ruffians to ensuring the utmost levels of happiness for Chads and Karens at restaurants.

Sup pimpin. Dont know how you do it bro. Late nite crowds my kind of folks for most part...there would be bloodshed from chads n karens...zero doubt in my mind.

I think the government needs to get out of regulating everything...and let technology advance....think about how little our space program had advanced...and compare to space x...our airplanes etc should be further along technology wise bur government holds back advancment

Absolutely the future is green energy, it's just not the immediate future. Phased in based on technology gains in the next 50 to 100 years.
