I don't know and frankly don't care. What he initially said was the truth and had been said many times before. Of course when Romney says it they blow it out of proportion. Wonder if those that screamed the loudest are fans of his competition?

I think it would be safe to say the majority that scream the loudest are the are fans of his competition.

Check my previous postings. I am not a fan of Romney nor Obama. I believe we are up the proverbial creek with either one.

your continued ranting about changing the head office isn't going to do jack about the structural problems we have with electing congress. Obama tacked on his idiotic emergency spending (more blatant votebuying) and Bush bought seniors with his prescription drug silliness, but the main problem lies in the lifetime politician syndrome within the halls of the Capitol.

The tour was intended to show he can be Head of State.

Romney's tour did not accomplish what it set out to do. It was all intended to demonstrate he was ready to handle foreign affairs and he failed miserably.

Obama and W both failed to take an etiquette lesson.
Romney insulted England.
These are different situations. The Prime Minister of England and the Mayor of London were both throwing shots at Romney.
Doing a toast at the wrong time or winking at the queen is not insulting a nation that has worked 7 years to put an event on.

Actually, I think the Maldives/Falklands was the biggest gaffe since he was trying to use the Spanish word for Falklands and screwed that up - the Spanish name implies siding with the Argentinians.

Overall, I don't see how Romney proved himself any less qualified for foreign affairs than Obama (a low bar I know) so it's amusing to watch Team Obama make these allegations.

but he didn't say they were unprepared. He commented that the flubs leading right up to the event were problematic but that overall he thought they'd be ready - once they started he (like the thousands of other critics expressing his same concern) acknowledge things are going well.

honestly there are plenty of things to hammer Romney about but this is just ridiculous.

I would agree except that the whole trip has been carefully orchestrated by the campaign to make Romney look presidential. Have you noticed how he gets off a plane? He lands and comes bounding down the steps, just like the POTUS does. Gets met on the tarmac by an official, just like the POTUS does. Gets in a limo and does a photo opp outside 10 Downing, just like the POTUS does.

The one thing they forgot was to have a candidate who is remotely comfortable in his own skin. From saying goofy crap to looking like the most self-conscious kid at a party for junior high schoolers, Romney has come across as anything BUT presidential.

Romney is not less qualified than Obama. We are scraping the bottom of the barrel with both.

I don't think David Cameron or Boris Johnson are members of Team Obama. If they had not made their comments, this story would have died fast. When the PM of England and the Mayor of London are throwing jabs at the GOP nominee for the POTUS , that is news.

One of Romneys weak spots is in foreign policy. This tour was planned by Team Romney to show Romneys diplomatic skills. He failed, members of the GOP are saying he was bad.

I don't think this will make any difference in the election, it's the story of the week.

It's a bit silly to claim that you've been insulted while insulting the stre of Utah in the same speech.

also, I don't think I'd compare London to SLC. Romney turned a $400MM deficit into a $1MM surplus when he took over in SLC. London is estimated to be 4x over budget and still facing logistical issues (e.g. security).

highlighting Romney's "gaffe" also raises his competence as a leader.

1) I don't think he looks anymore like a nervous 13 year old than Obama looks like an arrogant prick.

2) I think recent polling has indicated that Romney has a big lead in economic issues and that thinks like "likeability" are of limited importance in this election.

amazing how the undecided voters (which you considered yourself one late into the 2008 race) are now numbskulls. I would personally consider anyone that can look at the previous 4 years and say "yeah, gimme more of that!? to be a numbskull but I guess the definition varies. Obama can look the part all he wants for the American Idol-type voters but he was an unqualified candidate, an unqualified president and an unmitigated disaster. Romney should look like George Washington compared to him
