Ron Paul for President 2012

Anything else, or just the fact he is the underdog? Talk specific platform points and don't parrot back what the media says.

lol

from the gold standard to his dangerous views on national security, the man would be terrible to have sitting at 1600 Penn Ave.

Also, for you fiscal hawks, he's a hypocrite when it comes to earmarks. check out his record

which is why I wouldn't vote for him in the primary. Of course there are only a handful who would want to be held to their record vs rhetoric

It's not hypocritical. He votes against his own earmarks. If everyone followed his lead there would be no earmarks.

He votes consistent with his principles, and the constitution, and this allows his district to get some of their federal tax dollars back.

If we could all get our congressmen to vote like Ron Paul, there would be no earmarks, and you can't say that about any other congressman.

Wait, if you think Ron Paul's record is inconsistent and this is why you won't vote for him, than who the hell would you vote for? Even if this qualifies as inconsistent in your mind, who is more consistent than him?

said before I'm voting for Johnson in the primary. Of course he'll never win but at least he's actually done the things I would want. Requesting earmarks only to vote against them seems like a setup

it's also not the only reason I would ignore Paul

I like Johnson a lot, too.

Honestly, I don't see how the earmarks are a problem. It is his duty to vote with the constitution. He does it. He's not violating any promises.

If he doesn't write in earmarks then every other congressman is stealing tax dollars from Paul's district and rewarding his/her own. Ron Paul's people get nothing because they voted in the only guy who is truly fiscally responsible? That's not really fair.

Like I said, if every congressman behaved like Paul, there would be no earmarks.

It's hypocritical. He knows how it works... he puts in the earmarks, he knows the bill will pass, and he votes against them just to grandstand. It's complete bull****.

So he wouldn't vote against it if it were going to be a close vote? I would bet anything that he would still vote no.

It's not a congressman's duty to write a constitutional bill. It's only their duty to vote with the constitution.

he needs to stay consistent. the fact is that he rails against government spending and waste, but doesn't hesitate to throw in beaucoup earmarks for his own district.

So no bills would ever make it through congress if everyone were like him! This is just batty. one reason he has no chance of becoming president

We all know the eventual ticket will be Perry vs Obama. We will have the illusion of choice just like in past elections, Both are pos of the higest order.
