Ron Slay - Opportunity to Reset

If Barnes actually believes it's a factor, then there are far better ways to challenge Fulkerson in public than the way he has; not to mention I could definitely see Barnes' handling of it having a negative effect on the team.
I'm certain you know more about Barnes as to how to handle Fulkerson

You sit there and laughed at someone else for saying they knew the pulse of the team better than Barnes, then proceeded to try to tell me how Barnes is thinking in a situation as if you have a damn clue yourself.

And maybe I do know more, considering the hell of a job Barnes has been doing this year with him.

I know Conswella Sparrow. I've been to a Barnes' practice a couple of years ago. I just might have much more of clue than you

OMG you went to a practice? Holy sh** guys, I didn't realize we had a person here who has been to a real life practice! Holy crap get this person an analyst job, there's no way anyone here knows more than this one!

I talked with Bruce Pearl for 20 minutes outside Neyland in 2010 and high fived Steve Hamer.....guess that makes me an expert too.

Well he certainly lived it because he was on the 2000-2001 team that started 16-1 and got up to #4 and ended 5-7, 1-1 in the SECT and 1 and done in the NCAAT.
I’ve been thinking back on the parallels from that season and this season for over a month now . I’m sure somebody else has noticed it , as you just correctly did but this feels just like that year to me. If this years team makes the S16 though I’ll be shocked . I hope that I am wrong but I have a bad feeling that the next few games are not going to go well and the season will end with a thud .

How often have you spoken to either of those people? Johnson's mother told me point blank as to why Keon went to UT. Knowing someone and meeting someone are entirely different situations. Grow up

Says the guy who tried to play internet expert by bragging he went to a Barnes' practice one time as if that means a damn thing.

We have people that are explaining away Fulky's performance, blaming COVID, injuries, no preseason, etc. And yet Barnes doesn't mention any of that and rips Fulky a new one each post game. So if he does have the pulse of the team, then people need to stop making excuses for Fulky because Barnes clearly doesn't buy any of the excuses given.
Barnes believes that as a Senior you play through “minor injuries”. You have two choices: Sit or play. If you play, you’re not injured according to Barnes. Factually, Fulky has a back injury, a fractured finger, and is twelve pounds light from COVID. If you don’t see him getting pushed off the block, boxed out, wincing when he shoots, and straining to hit any shot besides a putback layup, you might want to invest in a better TV.

So then you are in fact saying Barnes is full of sh** then?

It's plenty big but not at a level that includes "window licker". Context is more valuable, and I've obviously hit the nail on the head, punk! Simple, yet highly accurate

I am kinda where Slay is I think, there are areas that aren't getting it done. It is plain to see, we have been getting out everythinged and that has too stop. We didn't do anything better than auburn, but that doesn't mean this team doesn't have the talent to turn it around. But our inside game has got to improve, we aren't shooting well from the outside consistently and we stand around too much getting the ball in and don't handle full court pressure very well. Our defense has regressed the last few games, auburn got to the glass way to easy several times. I played ball myself, it's easy to be critical of our play right now. But with all that said we are capable of playing much better than we have the last month or so. We have to do a better job at the offensive boards and the defensive boards against auburn when one of them shot their other 4 were moving to the rim to get the rebound. When we shot the majority of them time everyone is standing around. That is our biggest summary of our entire problem lately, too much standing around looking and not enough moving around doing. GBO!!!!!

Slay is easily in my top 5 of favorite Vol roundballers. I’d go to war with him. But there will be no reset - this team will not win another game this year.

Agree. And if Covid really is a factor, just bench Fulky and put that big goon in his place.

He mentioned that Vandy was one of his top choices back in the days of memorial magic. Can you imagine Slay in a candy uniform???
