Ronald Powell and Dominique Easley threaten to transfer from Florida

Without Mullen you got your asses handed to you by Bama. Now you go without Mullen, Strong, and Tebow. Keep telling yourself that you have nothing to fear. One day you might believe it.

Without Mullen the Gators went 12-1.

Of course, the Gators have concerns.

Meyer is an elite, accomplished coach, period.

The point is Powell and Easley are not transferring, at this point.

Michael Jordan never won a championship without Scottie Pippen.

Clearly this calls into question the greatness of Michael Jordan.

You don't get it.

UF fans are supposed to live in fear of the day that UF is no longer at or near the top of the SEC....who can feel good about their program when the end is so close?

Not his greatness, but his ability to succeed by himself.

You actually kind of proved the point. Meyer may be a great coach, but he'll never have great success without some help.

I really hope you dense Florida fans catch the sarcasm here

Did he have Mullen and Tebow in support?

Mullen was 31 and on the downside of his career as a college tight end. Ben Troupe pretty much took his job.

Tebow had just turned 16 and had trouble reading college defensive schemes.

So, that was Meyer's fault.

Who's arguing he's not?

Right now he is.

Will he still be considered great or a product of great assistants/great situation 10 years from now?

Several people on this message board agrued just that....go back to around Page 6 and read for yourself.

Agreed, and that was my only point in this entire pissing contest.

Ask me again in 10 years....it's rather pointless to predict that now.

Oddly, Mullen didn't win the NC last year at Miss. St.

But he would have beaten Florida had it not been for the aid of a referee. Imagine what he will be able to do when the calls go his way.

Taking that TD away from UF would have resulted in a 22-19 final score in UF's favor.

Math is hard.

It is insignificant in gauging Florida’s future success (Championships); which is what I thought we were talking about.

It is interesting that you play up their success (SEC HC, Big East HC, one of the most decorated college QBs ever) while downplaying the effect their loss will have on the Florida program.

No where near what we were discussing and I doubt you care as you continue to fish for logical reasoning.

It is interesting that you believe or read that anyone was downplaying the SIGNIFICANT coaching and player losses that Coach Meyer is dealing with AND DEALS WITH EVERY YEAR !!!

My guess is that many don't even know what was being discussed here, when the opportunity for another pointless game of "Meyer Really Isn't That Good" presented itself.

Meyer hasn't been able to win NCs without them either. I thought I made that pretty clear.

So, it stands to reason that Louisville and Miss. State hired head coaches that have zero chance of ever winning ANYTHING because Meyer isn't with them.

Makes a lot of sense.

How about "Piss off incinigator again"?

That's more along of the lines of what I was doing.

Here's to Brantley being a better QB than Tebow.

I would.

You sir, just don't get it.

Meyer is merely a function of great assistant coaches, a fertile recruiting base (which includes Virginia Beach, VA...Bristol, CT...Ft. Washington, MD...among other places) and a glorified fullback playing QB.

Actually, that's yet to be determined.

Will the football be round in 10 years ?

Will they still tackle, play touch or use flags ?

If not, then Bryant, Paterno and Bowden's records will mean nothing.

I see where you were going, now.
