Rumbles of Truth...

The right has spent decades denying climate change and now that we are dealing with these insane, never before seen hurricanes suddenly it's the government creating them. The mental gymnastics required for you guys to rationalize all these conspiracies must be exhausting.

If only you understood the irony in your statement.

🤭 It's the nature of science for conclusions to change when dealing with an unknown, as COVID was and we hurried unnecessarily into mandates. That was a mistake. The vaccines were hurried too. Quite a few, which is too many, right wingers died saying they wish they had gotten the vaccine.

Climate change and its causes are entirely different matter.

I love this. trying to take a false high ground without any more understanding of the subject matter or science behind it than those you are getting on to.

not really. we have increased our studies on the climate, including funding more technology and so forth. along the same lines as we get more information, our understanding changes.

if this was a 1,000 year storm, when was the last one? if it was ~1000 years ago, how are humans to blame? if it was less than 1000 years, maybe its our understanding that is changing, due to actual data, and not the storms themselves.

also the use of the term "whatever year storm" is a bit of a misnomer or misused. the probability of a storm that size happening would come out to 1000 years before you hit one of the full intervals. but the thing with probability is it doesn't preclude that magnitude of event happening more often. flipping a coin should be a 50/50 event. but you can flip a coin 25 times in a row and never see heads. doesn't mean the probability was wrong, just that reality isn't dictated by it.

the way we study the past devastation of various storms is completely different from how we track active storms. there are no windspeeds kept in the bedrock. no pressure changes captured in the soils. no quick temperature fluctuations captured in the pollen count. storm surges might leave behind some pretty good evidence, but I haven't seen any comprehensive studies on that to really know what was going on in the past. when they do those studies they do two different extrapolations to convert the data into some type of comparable standard. the issue is the equations behind the extrapolations changes almost every time they do one.

Tbh, what seems exhausting to me is watching all these 45-minute conspiracy videos, Nick Fury has to be consuming at least 5 a day

“Rumbles of Truth” thread is currently about man made hurricanes, can’t make it up lol
Look I don't believe we mafe the hurricane and "steered" it where they wanted.....but it's not outside the realm of possibility. Cloud seeding, influencing weather absolutely does and has happened.

In order for me to believe we had something to do with Helene and now Milton a good case would be to be made. I just didn't see what the angle is/was.

Cloud seeding is essentially just manufacturing rain, not even close to creating a hurricane. Step 1 of a hurricane is warm ocean water. So unless you think the government is somehow heating up the ocean, the 2 aren't related.

People would rather believe in a secret hurricane machine than believe the water is getting warmer

But the Gulf usually has warm water. All you need is the tropical disturbance in the atmosphere and the rest happens on it's own. Like I said I don't think that's what happened here, but based on what I've read going back 20 years it's a possibility.

Some believe that raising taxes on us citizens cools the water. The earth had done this before us and will do it again long after
And by “this,” you are agreeing with me that the water is in fact hotter, right? Or are you team secret hurricane machine

Not sure many argue the earth changes over the years. The point of contention is whether taxing us citizens will actually save the earth from something that may or may not be correctable by humans

Long way of saying “yes, I agree with what you said but want to argue about something you didn’t say at all”

Neither can I. I guess you never heard of Popeye or Cirrus. It's not only very well documented technology, it's very old technology. Yet you are gonna smugly discount subjects of which you have no knowledge.

It's nothing new.

Sure thing buddy. Can’t wait to hear your flat Earth thoughts next
