But he's a former coach. That's the only pool we could pull from. He's got a damn good shot looking at his competition.

It doesn't? I don't know why an Elite 8 run would upset me.

I'm not trying to argue that Bruce isn't as good as Jerry. He's(BP) about a mile better. But, as LV has said, Bruce Pearl isn't the only coach we've ever had that can win here at Tennessee. It just seems that way due to our recent successes.

This won't happen, but if it did I dont think Mike Hamilton has the capabilites to hire another basketball coach who could continue in the direction Pearl has put the program in.

I don't know if this has been brought up, but I found this USA Today article from a few days ago. Bruce says to an Atlanta radio station concerning if the University would terminate him:

"I don't think so. No. I think it is certainly up for discussion," Pearl told 790 the Zone. "I don't believe that that would be the case, otherwise that would be what's taken place."

Just based off of this, it seems UT wouldn't have asked him to resign. But this is just one quote, who knows?

Mike won't be involved in the process of hiring a new coach if pearl is gone.
