"Yall are stupid. In 2000-01, we started 16-1. Wisconsin, West Virginia, and Memphis were good then. They all almost won 20 games and Memphis even made the NIT. That schedule ranks up there with any of Pearl's schedules, which is routinely, if not every year, ranked in the top 5-10 in the nation. Syracuse even made it to the second round of the NCAA tourney that year fellas! We were so relevant beating up on these powerhouses. So impressive. It's a wonder why we got arse raped once conference play began and were eliminated out of the tourney in the first round."

Yea, I do. If we continue to pay people $2million+, there's lots of coaches that would come. And also, unless Pearl is going to just get us slammed with 'AA violations, the program is in far better shape now than before Pearl arrived. It's a much more attractive job.

Yea, I wouldn't use his other 3 years. Also, you're right, winning in the Carrier Dome is about the same as beating UTC. Great points.

"We never made it as far as we did last year (after losing maybe our best player), but I'm unimpressed. Screw however many years the school has fielded a college basketball team, we only made it one game further than we previously had."

You have completely missed my point. Pearl isn't the only coach that can win here. I'm not saying Green's better than Pearl, I'm just pointing out that he had success here that wasn't far off from the success Pearl has had.

I'm just saying...things have to work out in your favor for a deep run to happen. Bruce got to the Elite 8 for the first time in program history. Kudos to him.

Green is no Pearl. Pearl has made us nationally relevant with consistent winning like UT has not seen and last year, the best finish ever. We are about to enter the dark ages of UT sports. I hope you can live on womens basketball because that's gonna be our only winning major athletics program until Summitt retires.
