RUMOR- Bruce Pearl Resigning (Quashed)

So.......it seems that RexVol irresponsible posting of unsubstantiated rumors has just reached, oh, a couple hundred thousand people? And in doing so, has caused a negative light to be shone on this site, the Tennessee basketball program, and the fanbase in general.

If you cared as much about verifying rumors as you do being the first to start threads about them, your post count would be reduced by no less than 80%, and your credibility would eventually rise above that which Tokyo Rose enjoyed, circa 1943.

Were I (or someone else) have posted this drivel, at the very least it would likely garner a suspension, and at worse, being banned.

Way to be "All-Vol" Rex. You should be allowed to be a buffoon if you wish to be one, but you should not be allowed a forum to wrap the rest of us up in it with you.

Please consider switching your allegiance to another school. Might I suggest Florida, Alabama or Army?

Wow.... this x1,000,000,000,000!!!!

awesome post.

:worship:

the bolded above is the best part.

that BP doesn't go anywhere. He will and has paid a price but the price to UT would be 1,000,000 times greater. I am thankful that we have at least one coach other than PS that can coach my beloved alma mater.

I like how people get attacked for supporting the coach.

Since when did it become so popular to root against your own team?

And I don't give a rats about the "true fan" debate. "True fans" like winning and Pearl has done that better than any coach in UT basketball history.

The idiots calling Pearl's character into question are the same ones who told us we shouldn't care about character when Kiffin and company were drunk at the club acting like children. Those same idiots act like its terrible that Pearl isn't well liked in coaching circles but told us it was a recruiting advantage that Kiffin pissed off every coach in the conference.

Pearl has gotten results. If you feel like his character is so poor that you shouldn't support him then by all means don't. But don't act like Kiffin was what we needed either.

Someone on Steven's facebook commented, I hope your dad is still the coach and Steven instantly responded "No worries hes not going anywhere." I dont see why he would answer that quick if it werent true he could easily ignore the comment.

BTW i actually know and am friends with steven not someone who FB stalks all of the athletes, so save it.

Maybe he's just fed up with the false rumor mongering.

Speaking only for myself, I don't "pull" against Pearl as the head coach, given that his on-court success is inextricably linked to Tennessee's.

However, I believe the manner in which he has conducted himself - be it the lying to the 'AA, or in the many other failed areas of both his personal and professional life - to be entirely self-serving, unacceptable, and not in good keeping with the standards and ideals of The University of Tennessee. I believe his actions have not only discredited both himself and the University of Tennessee, but far more egregiously, the millions of Tennesseeans whom it represents.

As such, I am unwilling to minimize or rationalize the harm which his behavior has caused to occur, or its severity, in any way, as doing so would first require me to both sacrifice my own personal character, and to impugn my own integrity.

While appreciative of the many, many good things he has done for our program, his position as head coach neither assuages my concerns nor mitigates the damage which his personal conduct has caused (and will continue) to occur.

Simply, his being our head coach nor more gives him a free pass than we would provide were he the coach at any other school. To do so now, because he is our coach, is disingenuous at best, and flagrantly dishonest at worst.

I had a situation last week you would have gotten a kick out of. I had a snitch in a drug case on the stand and I dropped this question on him: "Are you now residing at Insert Address of "Safe House" where the local drug task force had stashed he and his girlfriend?" Amazing how he was suddenly hit by a terrible case of amnesia. Funny how that happens.
My problem is getting em to the stand! Unless its an ex wife, they are usually solid!

Have to agree on Empire, but I keep watching and waiting. Flipped over and wathed Public Enemies, Johnny Depp is no Warren Oates!

Although I understand what you were saying here... your language is farrrrrrrr to complex for this board

My favorite line from last weeks episode. "This is my life man, just staring at buttholes and trying to get my buzz on." I died. Agreed that boardwalk empire is good but it's dragging ass. Kenny Powers needs not a discernable plot. Plots are for *****es and *****es get stitches.

"There's no I in team, but there is a U in c*nt. And right now, yall are actings like a bunch of little c*nts." That one had me cracking up

Very well said

maybe, idk this one guy was the only person who said anything and steven instantly squashed it.

Can you blame him? Last night there were some here suggesting it was true because Hubbs and Brice weren't responding to questions.
