Personally, my feelings wouldn't be hurt if Peal left. However, I'm in no hurry to run him out. I do think we could get a coach just as good, if not better.

I think we would find a better coach if Pearl left but not someone that sells the program and recruits as well. I want him to stay.

I'd simply like to see Pearl change some things in his approach, knowing full well it's very unlikely. I earnestly like him for the program and want him here.

I didn't throw out names. I simply said you're off base about one that was thrown out by someone else.

That is a matter of opinion. I was just stating that if what Pearl has done here is not good enough, why not shoot for something higher than Bob Huggins.

I have no problems with expectations, if you have low ones that is what you end up with. What was our expectations four years ago when Pearl was hired?

My expectations were higher than most, even though we regressed under Peterson.

If he doesn't fix somethings he will see his popularity drop with the fan base, and the AD. And if that happens you will see no complaints from me.

+1, but I think he'll eventually shake up his coaching staff and change a few things.

I have somewhat of a secret hope that Pearl goes to UK (or wherever else; that's just the biggest and closest opening I can think of) and we get Mike Anderson. Seems unlikely though.

What took you so long? Ain't that kinda close to Bronzer Bruce Pearl?:)

It was emain that refused to answer my question and then gave some made-up-on-the-spot baloney. Now that I understand hat's perspective I'm fine with it. He's basically indifferent on the issue of Pearl leaving, but IMO overly critical.

Bob Huggins would have taken it for half that two years ago. Tennessee would have zero problem upgrading from Pearl for $2 mil per.

Pearl did take it for half of that when he started! He proved himself and got a decent raise. Why do some TN fans automatically start bashing when the team doen't live up to the media's and the fans hype? Pearl has won over 20 games a year since he's been here. Not bad in my opinion. I'm sure he's not satisfied but a poor program just doesn't fix itself overnight contrary to what some of you think. Pearl is the man he'll get it straightened out.

For the record......again......I don't want Pearl gone at all. All I want is to be able to point out and discuss legit criticisms without getting a list of accomplishments and brilliant replies about Houston, Peterson, Green, and/or O'Neil.

Pearl can and should be criticized as long as we fans are able to put his accomplishments into perspective. He is the best we've had in a long time. Let's not get carried away and call for his head quite yet. When have we been this good in a 4 year span...it's been awhile. 3/4 years with an SEC East Championship. 4/4 tournament appearance, etc, etc. UT could not even fill Thompson Bowling Arena until Bruce came along.

We are a football and women's basketball school. We have been like that damn near all my life until Pearl came around. Sure we had our moments with decent teams, but the expectations only changed when Pearl came around.

When are people gonna realize that Doug Dickey is to blame for much of our basketball ineptitude during his tenure as the AD. He wouldn't shell out the money for a good basketball coach, never gave a coach want they wanted (facilities, etc.) and absolutely didn't give a rat's ass whether we won a game or not.

We now have a AD that is more than willing to bring UT basketball where it needs to be and is obviously willing to pay for a good coach. So I think it is ridiculous to be afraid to lose someone like Bruce just b/c we are afraid that we will return to the days under Dickey.

I like Bruce, but I'm not gonna cry myself to sleep if he isn't our coach tomorrow.

I'll upgrade if we get Pitino, but until then we have a guy that is pretty damn good. He had a "bad season" this year. We still made it to the tournament and won the SEC East. Before Pearl a "good season" was if we won the SEC East and went to the tournament.

We have different expectations thanks to who? Bruce Pearl. Cut him some slack.
