There is nothing quite like the butterfly effect of a coaching search. What happens if Pete Carroll doesn’t leave USC for another year?
What if Drew Brees went to Miami instead of New Orleans and Bama gets Richrod instead of Saban ?

It’s amazing how all of these things that you could never piece together as they are happening have a huge impact on your school.

There was observed improvement from his first year to the end of last year. And again through the first two games this year and 1st half of the UGA game. Then we went backwards

Very possible, he would most likely coach LB as he has done at AU LSU etc. SCar doesn’t think they have a shot at Freeze.

This quote is proof the TN job is still revered.
However, one thing that was made abundantly clear on Tuesday morning: Freeze likes the idea of coaching at Tennessee. Love would actually be a stronger way to put it. That's a fact.

Freeze did sneak in to Neyland stadium with his wife on their honeymoon, from what I recall. Tennessee has always been his dream job.

I’d like to see Pruitt moved to DC and Freeze HC. Pruitt doesn’t seem comfortable as HC and might like the move.

Yes. It's amazing that coaches always look pretty good if you only look at the weakest opponents on the schedule. Even that doesn't exonerate Pruitt because he loses those games too (GA State, BYU, Kentucky, Arkansas).

I think Freeze is a really good coach. I think he could do great at a school with UT's resources. USCe is about the same level as Ole Miss. He'll make them better than they are... but it won't last or result in championships.

Plus... as long as Dabo is at Clemson... USCe ain't the first choice for the best players in SC much less NC or GA.

If it was between Mushamp or Pruitt for DC I would prefer Pruitt but I know Pruitt wont be moved to DC here, hed be fired as HC and pack his bags.

What I read was Liberty just gave him a raise and extension ... second this year if I remember right. The school is private, so they don't release info, but they did say he was in the top 5 pay for group of 5 coaches, putting him at 3 million a year or so.

Not going to happen. I live in Columbia. No doubt Freeze could turn things around for the Gamecocks, but you have no idea how strong the religious input has been. Freeze has too much of a checkered pass. I feel that Beamer, if he can put together a strong staff, will get the nod and Gamecocks will continue to be mediocre until he, too, is fired in 4 or 5 years.

Oh, I get it. I live in the heart of the Bible belt. One thing I've learned though is that man can be somewhat selective in his application of forgiveness and repercussion of sin....

While I like the Hugh Freeze part of your statement, I don't think people realize what a flop he was as DC at Auburn between HC gigs at UF and SC. Not to mention his defense in SC is nothing special. Not knocking you, just sayin' ...
