This is from Rob Lewis, who is on top of things 99% of the time:

"I had one person tell me today, someone I would consider an impeccable source, that coach Martin hasn't had any conversations with Hale this summer."

I'm paraphrasing, but he said he has talked to a lot of people, and has no reason to think that anything of note is going on.

This looks to be either an incredibly thorough cover up job by the staff, or what you guys call a "troll."

Can no one envision a scenario where Hale shoots some guy he isn't that close with some false information, just knowing he'll leak it on the message boards and create a hilarious amount of hoopla? This has the stink of being trolled all over it.

Just talked to Shannon Hale's father, Shannon Sr.

He says definitively that there are no truth to the rumors, Shannon remains committed to Alabama, talks to the staff there all the time and has no interest in looking around at Tennessee or anyone else at this time.

Or a scenario where a Tennessee fan just flat out makes something up to get attention?

This happens all the time, guys. Multiple times a year. You just can't believe this nonsense.

Tennstud used to do this all the time on the scout boards. He'd say some completely wild rumor (my favorite was that JaJuan Smith like to rob people with a shotgun) and then when he was attacked for spreading false information, he would always give the "I'm just telling you what I heard" line.

Maybe you did actually hear all of this stuff and Hale was just messing with you. Or maybe you made it all up. Either way, it looks to be completely false.

I wish him and his family well regardless of the outcome.



I'd prefer pulling for him in orange than cheering against him in crimson though. :)

If he did in fact commit, and they want to keep it quiet, then I'm sure they don't appreciate people trying to spew the news
