Running back depth

With an RB lineup like that and our group of receivers, I'm feeling much less concern for the QB position and think even a talented but inexperienced OL will be enough offensive power to keep in the game.

Neither had Jamal Lewis, Travis Henry or Travis Stephens played a down in the SEC ... until they did play in the SEC.

I'm sure those guys were just randomly grabbed off the street and it was just incredible luck against all odds that all three turned out to have actual running back abilities ...

... just like the current crop of rb recruits. They were just randomly chosen by a blind-folded picker pointing to names in phone books. :eek:hmy:

Keith jeter and Brian darden say hello. Let's wait.....:eek:lol:

No, not at UT. He was a RB. Became at WR in the NFL with the Patriots.

At UT, 353 rushes vs 48 receptions. Also, at UTs facility they have him listed among the great UT running backs, right next to Travis Stephens, Travis Henry and Jamal Lewis.

We ran the veer back then, so it didn't make sense to waste him at flanker or split end.

Are you 35 are younger? How about letting them play a down of football before declaring we have the next Stewart/Hayden/garner/phillips or Lewis/henry/Stephens/smith. They have not played a single down. Somebody is going to be disenchanted, get injured, or be a bust. Jeez......you guys are impatient and are the first to call for a coaches head.:salute:

can not anyone be happy about the new guys coming in. why dont you go back to bed and try to get up on the right side this time jackazz

I'm happy. It's great to have reason for optimism after so long without it. GBO

Lmao at "are you 35 OR younger" like that means we know less about football. At least we still know how to use the english language properly, old timer.

I prefer to see these kids for myself before declaring we have incredible depth. Good grief.....that's nonsense. One of the kids has a torn acl, one had shoulder surgery, and another had a history of getting in trouble at Bama. Those are facts. Now, go back to drinking the orange kool aid and be ready to run the coach off at the first hint of trouble.:hi:

Please enlighten us as to the "history" of getting into trouble at 'bama. And remember to cite "your facts".

In 2001 we signed 3 of the top 10 tb in the nation. Cedric Houston, Jabari Davis, and Derrick Tinsley. Houston turned out to be the best of the bunch and he was average at best. You just never know.

The key to winning in the SEC.

Quality Depth

We got it now at RB, WR, DB, and LB. Once we get it in the trenches we will contend for championships again.

Yep. McKenzie and Settles would start an avalanche for the D-line. Heck. They ARE an avalanche! O-line's got some nasties looking at the rock, too.

buTch is starting to get some qualty players for the depthchart at some key positions.

He stlil has a few more years before we'll have starter quality at every position.

The solid potential talent is coming and I believe hel'l keep it coming when the Wins start to pile up in a couple of years.

The key now is getting all these youngsters coached up with knowledge and then getting them real game experiece and they'll get that over the next couple of years too.

There's lots of reasons for us real Tenessee fans to have hope and be optomistic for the future and anyone that can't see that is blind or a troll.

buTch only has 1 recruiting class on campus that's all his and it's a great class so look out when he has 4 or 5 of his classes on campus because we're going to be a tough team to beat on any given gameday.

#BrickbyBrick...VFL...GBO!!!

Yes, but isn't it great to look to the future with a stable of potentially very talented running backs. Talent can bring a little more certainty to a situation. Potentially brighter days ahead. GBO!

Up to now we were ecstatic about our WR corps. Now we are the same for RB. TEs are very good. Now we need to get some studs who can block up front and a good SEC level QB for the offense to be exceptional. The defense could struggle until we get some hogs who can plug the middle. Speed on the edge and the back end is improving. We sometimes forget the importance of a good punter and FG kicker to give the team an edge to get over the top. Gotta get them and '15 and '16 could be the years of the Big Orange.

Far more of these highly rated RB's end up more along the lines of busts than real stars.

I hope they all turn out to be stars, I'm really excited about them. With that said, they still haven't played a down of SEC ball yet. Time will tell what they turn out to be.:eek:hmy:

OK. Throw a little realism into the fray, but you have to start from somewhere and if you get 3 or 4 really good players at each position then at least a couple will pan out. Maybe all of them will. Not having played a down in the SEC yet is a double edged sword. 2014 could be a struggle, but those young players will be here for at least the next 3 years. Then talk about SEC experience. WOW!!!!

And signed Gerald Riggs the year after.....two five stars and two high four stars. Nice players but none played in the nfl to amount to anything like their great predecessors.
