Running up the score in the NFL?

It's going to cost anybody who would deliberatly take out a QB WAY more than 15 yards.

who was that QB for Pittsburgh that got leveled after an interception? The hit essentially ended his career and as far as I know, nothing ever happened to the player that ran over him.

I am surprised this hasn't become an issue yet or some cheap shots haven't been taken. Baseball has some infromal rules about taking care of showboaters. I guess football doesn't?

Ask Chad Johnson about Brian Russell or T.O. about the time he planted the ball on the star in the Cowboy's stadium when he was a 49er

Why would the Pats want their star players that are being paid millions sitting on the bench for 30 minutes? They were up 28 points at halftime Sunday, and that is a blowout.

as good as the offense is running right now, i think Brady has a higher chance of getting hurt by the gatorade cooler falling on him. I'd just leave him behind the O-line and hope for the best.

Maybe the Pats will stop running up the score when people come to the realization that there 3 titles aren't tainted.

especially as 2 anonymous Pats, for confidentiallity's sake we'll call them T. Bruschi and M. Vrabel, have made questionable hits on opponents in the past, both of the low and head first variety. It will serve them right.

Actually Rodney Harrison is widely known as the dirtiest player in the NFL. Still, I don't see any cheap shot coming in on Brady. Anyone that wants to try it will get a big fine. With the wide receivers and offensive line the Pats have, Rohan Davey or Matt Cassell could probably come in and do pretty well, anyway. Or, the Pats might bring back Doug Flutie. That would be hilarious if Brady went down and Flutie led them to a Super Bowl, anyway.

I know what you are saying, but a DL can do it in a not so obvious way. Every late hit on a QB is not met with a fine.

He better make sure it's really inconspicuous. Otherwise, that DL is going to get a chop block and he'll be spending the rest of the season on crutches.

and an empty wallet.

it's not like people do it all the time.

that doesn't settle anything. Grow some grapefruits and man up. Does Wal-mart have to let off the gas now that they've taken over the retail world and dominate everybody?

Get over your Brady crush and I'll "man up".

No point in arguing with a major homer... well not really a true homer but since you dislike Peyton so much you can achieve that status. :)

please... If Jason Campbell and company could run up the score I'd actually be excited about it. I expect Peyton and company to do it and I don't have a problem with it.

Peyton and company don't do it. There's plenty of people that could have done it in the past. But the arrogant prick, Bill, is the only one to do it week in and week out.

And by the way - if you heard the sound bite by Brady on sport center today... it only proves how much of a punk pretty boy is. I only wish someone like Haynesworth gets a shot at him remembering that. I'd even pay for Haynesworth's fine if he'd take a really cheap shot on him if they played. He's probably one of two or three players in the NFL that I despise enough that I'd enjoy watching get a season ending injury. Let's go Miami - make it happen when the score is 63-0...

I don't know it word for word... probably can download it on ESPN.com or something. All I know it came off really arrogant even if it wasn't meant to be.

I think he even said they were going out to kill people.

I know he didn't mean it all literally, but he needs to watch his words and his tone if he's going to be interviewed about it - especially when half of football fans hate his guts.. then the other half loves him.

He was trying to justify scoring 60 points because a 35-7 score could turn into 35-21 in the end when the backups are playing. Apparently 35-21 is an embarrassing win.
