That's interesting in this case because prior to the USSR breakup there was not a Ukrainian state as we know it now--though there was definitely a Ukrainian cultural identity.

I’ll have to check and see which hospital I was born at but dad was/is a Marine.

My grandparents (dads folks) owned a place in south beach. I can’t tell you how many summers I spent climbing mango trees and eating all the mangos I could get my hands on.
My grandmother grew her own sugar cane as well. I’ll never forget her cutting me a piece of pure sugar cane to chew on. Great stuff!

You're just being obtuse at this point. He was born in the Ukrainian SSR which makes him Ukrainian. So if Petro isn't Ukrainian than are all citizens of ex-Soviet republics not their own nationality (Belorussians not Belorussian?)

A high ranking deputy minister involved in seeking the return of Crimea to Ukraine named Yuri Hrymchak, said on a televised political talk show on Friday, “When it is being said that Russia won’t allow the passage of a British ship, I have one remark – has anyone tried it?” — according to a translation of the provocative comments by RT. Moscow subsequently described the idea as "bonkers," according to RT.

The Ukrainian official added, “And it would be interesting to see how will [the Russians] would react if this ship sailed in a caravan” through the Kerch Strait, according to the live broadcast, later uploaded to the station's YouTube channel.

Why would the Russians beat anyone’s ass? The British would just be doing a perfectly legal navigation of the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov with their friends the Ukranians.

Of course they would be going in there to be provocative. WTF do you think the Ukrainian official meant when he said, “And it would be interesting to see how will [the Russians] would react if this ship sailed in a caravan”. They are interested in seeing if they can get something kick started in the region. Even you can't be that biased to not admit that that is exactly what the British/NATO are doing.

Yet you two continually offer excuses for an occupying country in Crimea reinforcing their defenses as “nothing to see” while calling out every other countries reaction as “OMFG look at that provocative action!” Check your own straight face in the mirror on this one Ras. 😘

WTF... are you still on this Crimea kick? The Crimeans already have spoken. They voted overwhelmingly to join the Russian Federation. No stories have come out since 2014 of any unrest or quarrels about Crimeans wanting to be part of Ukraine.
