Ryder Cup: It's Rivalry Week

and his three studs sucked. Adding Monty and Clarke to the mix wasn't going to fix that. Neither of them would have outplayed Poulter and Rose.

Their performance this past week just adds to the bewilderment that I already had that neither of them can win or even play well with any consistancy on the regular tour stops.

however, Sergio's putter on Sunday reminded me why he's arguably TBPTNWAM.

His putter plus his mental toughness, thus far throughout his career he has shown me nothing that says he has what it takes to win the big ones when the chips are down. Talent he has plenty of, nerves and guts, I'm not so sure about.

Not even arguably. IMHO, Sergio is the world's best ballstriker. And yes, that includes Tiger. I've never seen anyone hit irons the way he does. But major championships come down to putting, and Sergio just can't make the clutch putts.

RE: the Ryder Cup - Azinger did a fantastic job keeping everyone loose, focused, and happy. In the past few cups when we were getting whipped by the Euros, it was as if we were going off to the Bataan Death March or something.

Sergio's a much better driver of the ball than Tiger, but he's not the iron player that Tiger is. Tiger hits 'em high, low, sliding and drawing. And, he can hit irons further than anyone.

All around ball striking, Sergio's the best but that should lead to top of the tour in GIR, but he's not there. Tiger is regularly, even never hitting fairways.
