S. Alabama make anyone nervous?

I'm so worried about this game that I'm taking my kid to Dollywood on saturday for his birthday.

We hang 40 on them. We have something to prove. Corey Vereen is gonna break out this game, he only had 7 snaps against Fla. This will help him prepare for uga

Just spoke with three USA coaches / grad assistants tonight. Working and staying over on the west side near the campus. Had dinner across the bar and I had on my "Property of Tennessee Volunteers" shirt and one of my staff had on a power T hat. They were hitting us up about places to hang, ladies etc when they get there. I was thinking ... sounds like we're in good shape with that kinda focus. :)

They were all very high on Butch. One said "he's gonna bring that program back, you watch and see". What was interesting is how confident these guys were in a possible win Saturday. One was talking about how WKU was dominating the game until they had 6 straight turnovers. I just smiled and nodded. That was kinda funny. So, they really did think they have a chance to take us down.

Sorry, but I felt compelled to help them scheme a little, just to be friendly.
First, never try to isolate a WR/RB on #45. The guy covers like Deion Sanders and picks everything.
Second, Run right at #98, never to the edges. The guy is just a big teddy bear and can't tackle.
Third, #20 is just a battering ram. Pack the middle and don't worry about the edges.

... :) JK about that last part.

How do you know they have "dogs" ? Lol

Because I've actually watched them play two entire games and saw how some of them play the game. Do a little research on them and you can tell a lot by their roster and where a good number of their players come from.

How do you know they don't LOL :hi:

I've watched a lot of football this year, and I've done some research on the interwebs about this team. I really think we'll have a much easier time with South Alabama than the University of Alabama. Again, this is just my humble opinion.
Thoughts?

I have lived in Mobile for a few years now and they (locals) are really proud of what South has been able to do as a fledgeling team. The local radio sports show seems to think that WKU was just as good as TN during their game and that if the two teams played 10 times, they would each win about 5. Therefore by their logic, since South beat WKU, then South is just as good as TN. Even though they mainly report on Auburn and Alabama, they definitely play favorites to the tide. Got to love the logic of a highly trained Bammer mind.

According to the talent on both teams we should win by 20. Were a 20 point favorite to win this game. We should score in the 40's don't think they can get there even though their offense is good I see them maybe getting 24.

This could and should be the week "things" start coming together for us. With that said, USA is coming in with some confidence, justified or not, and at times may make the game interesting. If the D gets rolling and Worley starts to play though, this will be a great prep game for rebuilding some confidence before Jawja.

Hopefully this week we "Get Well" in a lot of different ways!

As far as the OP's question, I usually don't get nervous Until we go on Offense. Yikes

From the practice notes, Vereen is pushing to start after being back on the team in practice for only about 1.5-2 weeks.

South Alabama only makes me nervous if I run out of gas on I-10 after dark.

True! Mobile was in some list this year of top 10 most violent cities. I haven't been to all the other cities, but I'm telling you they can't be far off. That place is rough.

That being said, USA is on the west side of town across I-65. Normalcy can be found there. East side ... wow!

I live in Chattanooga, and it is about the same size as Mobile. We have UTC (my alma mater), they USA. Schools similar in size. But, man they really seem to have more excitement / community when it comes to the BBall and FB. They were in the NCAA Tourney about 4 years ago iirc, and a lot of people around there were really talking about them. I don't see near that much in Chatt, even when the Mocs were rocking in hoops. Maybe it's just me.

Or are oblivious to the fact that 4 coaches turned down almost $4,000,000.00/year to try and right this ship.

I'm not sure I see the correlation to what he said? How does that relate to hom being worried about the Jags?

Did they look like "dogs" giving up a ton of points to a garbage Tulane team?

My little sister goes to South Alabama and I go to UT. If we lose this game I don't think I will ever hear the end of it. I am always nervous. I'm pretty sure that comes with being a Tennessee fan. We are like abused dogs when someone wants to pet them. Lol With that said, I expect to put up a million on them and win.

I believe I said they have "some" dogs in my post. I say it won't be a blowout or easy win because of that.

You seem to disagree in saying they don't have any playmakers. What's your score prediction.

Even though they lost last week, it was the first time I can remember this team battling for a full 4 quarters.

If they play a hard 4 quarters like they did last week we have nothing to worry about.

The way we have been playing lately, even a good high school team on our schedule would make me nervous.

We are playing like crap. Plain and simple.
