Saban back to NFL?

Hmm..I'm fairly sure they would raise nine kinds of hell but why? If someone told you UT could have a coach for a couple of years and get a NC out of the deal before he bolts, wouldn't everyone take that.

And a Heisman, top recruiting classes, worth the investment even if he left tomorrow.

He's not going to stay at Bama forever. If he wins the SEC again this year and that's very likely, he'll play in another National Championship game. Win or lose he's going to be a hot commodity in the coaching world. Bama probably needs to enjoy it while it lasts, because i don't think it lasts much longer. He'll leave them in good shape though just like he did LSU. Whoever will reap the benefits for a few years afterward.

And what program would he leave for? Money is not a factor, he may want a challenge at another school, but he is getting to the age that that really doesn't seem like a goal now. He's most likely going to settle in north Ga. at Lake Burton so I don't see him leaving the southeast. He has total control where he's at and coaches in the best conference at one of the top rated schools in the nation. Just saying what program out there would be a better job?

Money and a challenge, it doesn't matter what job. If he leave Bama, he's going back to the NFL. Win another title at Bama and someone will back a dump truck full of money up to his front door and i promise you he's gone. He has no loyalty to Bama and will leave them high and dry just like he's done before. He has a history of it and he'll do it again. Enjoy it while it lasts.

Saban is a prostitute...Heck we probably could've had him for $1.00 over what he is making at bama....He won't be there long at all...Guys like him always are looking for new challenges....I hate the man and for personal reason's hope he falls on his face one day..."I know pipe dream, The man can coach" but one can still hope...I still haven't gotten over him betraying the Dolphins...He went from my favorite pro team to my most hated college team......Damn

He might go to another college, but really don't think it will be the NFL, and as far as money, if that's what it takes to keep him, it will be matched, see what happened with Kirby Smart and GA. Not a question about loyalty, still don't see a college program right now in the country that has more to offer, USC? That was suppose to be the "Dream Job". What college program do you think? Texas is taken care of,.

Oh, those poor souls. It's not like they got the Heisman and the BCS Championship in the same year. Poor, poor dears.

Also, if Saban stays at Alabama after this upcoming season, that would make it the longest he's stayed at any one place in his entire career.

Wow that's an eye popping stat. What a vagabond.

He failed in the NFL., he'll go there. Like i said if he stays in college he'll stay where he is at. Win another and i think he'll look for something else. He's smart, he knows things will eventually level off at Bama. They're riding a high right now and his popularity will be at a all time high. No where to go but down from there. That's why if he does leave it will be a ideal time for it. Just the same i don't see Urban sticking around Gainesville much longer either. The days of coaches staying in one place for 15 years or more are gone in my opinion. Too much money flowing freely and too much pressure to succeed.

I personally think he is gonna be at bama for the long run. He has all the resources there to be successful, all the money he could want, and a top 5 overall job in football period ( college, or pro ).

If the Cowboys don't get close this year I think Phillips is fired. From what I remember, he's good friends with Jerry Jones and that could be a possibility.

Greg McElroy's dad is executive in the head office for Cowboys, so there is connection there, so I'm sure JJ would want him.

It would suck if he did this.. I like Alabama being good again and it is nice to have other teams at their top level of competition. I am able to feel this way because I feel content with the future of the TN program, and it is only a matter of time until we are competing with them again.

Saban is a mercenary. NFL pays a lot more. Wouldn't be surprised if he left.

Well, don't think he will be leaving any time soon, if money was the reason, Bama would match whatever.

Wade Phillips is living on borrowed time. JJ has tried to be patient with him... but with a 1-4 post season record I'm sure he's losing that patience.

Isn't Jason Garrett being groomed to be the HC in-waiting? If not than JJ will probably throw the house at Little Nicky.

I can see Saban going to Dallas. Seems like a good fit for him... plus they already have the personnel for a 3-4 and a pretty damned good one.

I think this article is the perfect example of why a college to pro jump can never be ruled out. Why would Saban even bother to make this statement unless he even thought about heading to the pro's? Yeah RIGHT now coaching and living in Alabama is a dream but what happens when it starts to go south? Like Pete Carroll's first go around with New England---what happens when Nick Saban has those thoughts of what he could have done or should have done in Miami?. An NFL owner's paycheck helps but Saban is a competitor and depending on what happens in the next few years I could see him leaving if a situation arose....I don't know let's say Dallas...if I'm Jerry Jones (and we know Wade Phillips is just hanging by a thread_ and I fail to make the playoffs this year I'm sure Saban would take his call...if even just to listen!

I for one would love to Nick Saban gone...and I'm sure he's learned that in the NFL unlike college you have to not only coach but massage the egos!

I'm sorry but living in Alabama is probably the dream of very few. And those few probably live in trailers.

What could a world-class city like Dallas possibly provide for Saban and his family that Tuscaloosa/Birmingham couldn't?
