Saban doesn't back Oats

He "doesn't back Oats" but shows up at practice this morning and visits and talks with the team. Saban is in the same company as Oats is.

What's he supposed to do - not show support for one of his employer's other sports teams? There are people on the team other than Brandon Miller and Oats too.

He can do that and still be agitated with how Oats has handled the Brandon Miller situation. Plus, I'm sure there's some damage control going on by the basketball team's Twitter posting this.

Eh. He can rebuke Oats, and still support the team. That's how adults operate. I root for the Vols, but don't approve of all their behavioral choices or coaching messages.

We may dislike Saban on more than one level. But I stumbled into a site (forgive me Volgod, Peyton) and saw something before quickly exiting. Much as it pains me to say it, our Vols players would do well to take heed of the following. If they do, we may have no more Alvin Karma lobotomy behavior.

Tony Mitchell has been suspended from the team and all team activities until we gather more information about the situation and what his legal circumstance is. Everybody’s got an opportunity to make choices and decisions. There’s no such thing as being in the wrong place at the wrong time. You’ve gotta be responsible for who you’re with, who you’re around and what you do, who you associate yourself with and the situations that you put yourself in. It is what it is, but there is cause and effect when you make choices and decisions that put you in bad situations.

Saban is fearful that Bama is now a basketball school.

Yea I doubt he's worried about that. They, just like the Vols will always be football first. Big difference of 20k fans at a game compared to 100k+.
