Saban or Spurrier or Meyer?

Saban.......most definately. He has more class, and is one of the best X's and O's coach around.
I am more afraid of the talent and effort from S.Car. than the coaching matchup. Monte has Spurrier hands down, but I know these Cocks will be up for the game!

Going off what they have done since Urban and Saban have done since they have come in to the league I'm going with Meyer. He won a NC with Zooks talent and then turned around in 08 and won it again. Saban had talent his first year, and went 7-6 then year 2 startd 12-0 and lost 2 straight to close. As far as Spurrier and Monte go, mnte will take care of that "fun and gone" offense. I don't think we will give up more than 10 points

Keith Brown, Simeon Castille, Terry Grant, D.J. Hall, Marquis Maze, Roy Upchurch....All I'm saying is, he wasn't loaded in 2007 but he had some talent, Shula just didn't develop them

As far as effectiveness at the college level (where recruiting is 9/10ths of the law), obviously Saban and Meyer are ahead.

However, I just wonder if the OBC isn't still a better Xs and Os guy. I might be showing my age here, but I just think if anyone can find a way to exploit a weakness in a defense it's SOS.

If the OBC recruited as much as he golfed, USCe might be a contenda'.....

Just because CUM caught lightning in a bottle with Tebow does NOT make him a better coach than Saban.

Know who Chris Leak is ?

So Coach Monte Kiffin is only a good coach because of Eric Berry, right ? Or he's worse than Chavis because he had Derrick Brooks ?

Producing great players makes you less of a coach, huh ?

Pete Carroll must really suck because USC produces a lot of really good players.

27-13
35-13

Those are the scores of Saban and Spurrier in their only match-up versus Monte's D in Tampa.

They were both on the losing end.
I'm not worried about what Spurrier will do with an inferior offense versus an incredible defense.

I am not a fan of any, probably would rather spend a day with Spurrier, thought he was a hell of a coach at one time...as much as I hate to say it SABAN. Meyer can recruit and I thought he did a great job at BGreen and Utah...would have been damn pleased if he showed up after Utah wearing Tennessee orange, but Saban is better. Saban was a great coach at Mich St and had he stayed they would be routinely beating Ohio St. and UM, no doubt in my mind.

With that said I have been very impressed with CLK from the jump, I hope this feeling continues after Saturday night and see how he does with a team that has to be somewhat "down" after the bama game. If he has them ready and they beat SoCaro I will be extremely pleased and looking forward to the remaining schedule this year, 10, 11, 12 ad infinitum.

GO VOLS

Based on my opinion of current coaching effectiveness and not career achievements...

1. Saban
2. Meyer
3. OBC

Saban...ouch, that hurts to admit

So, according to the responders on this thread, the more preferred, better coach is much older (13 years), has half the NC (2 to 1), won that title 6 years ago vs. 2 NCs in the last 3 years, has had 3 jobs in the last 5 years, and has had little competition for recruits in his geographic area vs. competing for recruits with at least 2 of the most successful, high profile programs in recent history and the #2 ALL-TIME winningest coach in HIS OWN STATE.

That makes a lot of sense. Envy and hate from rivals I get. Calling Meyer a lesser head football coach than anyone right now is beyond ridiculous. At worst, he's as good and successful in college football as anyone currently coaching.

Not at producing NFL players. Not at recruiting. Not at setting offensive or defensive records. Not at graduation rates. Not at criminal records.

But wins, titles and academics together as a program to be proud of. :clapping::pepper::neener2::superman::yahoo::clap::wavey:

i don't expect a guy who jerks off his dogs to understand logic.

Not much logic here. Only envy and hate, junior. And that's ok.

Maybe you can pick up some new comedic material on the playground during recess. I'll look forward to your next fart or homo joke. :good!::thumbsup::fool::victory::clap:
