Unbelievably I don't see any thread about this yet. Rumors started beginning this week that the Indianapolis Colts were after a big name. It was whispers at the beginning of the week, but people are taking it seriously now. Fox sports is now all over this today. Apparently the owner is talking to Sabans Agent, and John Grudens' agent as well. Still rumor at this point, but rumor with some validity.

I wouldn't be surprised.

Saban is scared of CBJ. Can't handle the pressure of losing to Tennessee.

If lost to Auburn every year no matter how many NC, he would be gone. Bill Curry got fired because he couldn't beat Auburn.

I'm shocked! Isn't it a requirement that all rumors on VN be from a guy who knows a guy who knows a booster that knows your third cousin twice-removed? This rumor has been all over the media!

The rumor sounds as if it's likely true, but I sort of doubt Saban leaves. The Colts would have be willing to pay something like $10 million to lure Saban there, and even then, it's likely that Alabama could simply match it.

I could see Saban using this to work a new paycheck. I think he is too old to start a new NFL career tho. Cowherd has devoted the last 10 minutes to it though and is still going on about it. He seems to think Saban would and should go.

Saban goes to the colts for two years then lands at UGA. It will take CMR that long too pack his bags.

Considering the QB situation, it's probably one of the best job opportunities in the NFL.

If he has a press conference to say that he is not interested in the Colts job, then we'll know he's gone at the end of the season.

Saban isn't going anywhere...He couldn't cut it at Miami because he couldn't control players who make a lot more money than him...He is a control freak so I don't see him ever coaching in the pros again.
