I have always felt Saban put too much stock in Tua and abandoned the big physical tough persona Alabama has been known for. Also by keeping Tua over the veteran, once Hurts left, Alabama was left with nothing as a backup behind Tua. They go into next season with a huge question mark at QB and WR, and defense after losing 8 early draft picks. Had they kept and played Hurts through this season Tua would then start his RS JR and Sr years, he still would have been great and he would have likely avoided the injuries he's suffered. I bet Saban wishes he had a healthy Sr leader in Hurts right now.

Vols situation with JG and everyone wanting the young guys to play now is very similar to what Alabama was going through with Hurts and Tua. I think it would be suicide to run JG off and put our faith in the young unproven QBs. Senior leadership with lots of snaps under your belt will always be your best bet to win unless the talent is clearly different and the younger player is on a different level than everyone else. QB room will be a plus if CJP can get them all to stay as well as add Bailey.

This years basketball team is fun to watch, looks like a tournament team to me! :)

Never understood the irrational haters wanting JG to transfer at season's end. I don't see that happening. He's not a quitter. Nothing good would come from it if he did. Lots of QB options and plenty of competition there is exactly what we need. Coaches will play the best QB.. ..just like they have done for every game this year.

lol no. More idiocy from our resident clown.

Hurts was a champion QB who had earned his spot. Jarette lost to Ga St, choked vs Alabama and was generally stinking up the joint, and deserved to be benched.

Absolutely zero comparison.

How many former Alabama quarterbacks are starting in the NFL? How many former Alabama quarterbacks have started more than 10 games in a single season in the last 10 years in the NFL? If being a quarterback in the NFL is what a recruit is working towards why go to Alabama?

So Trevor Lawrence and all the other young players that play well should sit out 2 or 3 years before they play??? Do you want JG to start next year above Maurer and HB? Reminder, Maurer has been injured a couple times this year. Tua is a Junior.
Basketball use to have a rule that Freshman could not play varsity and maybe that was good thing. It gave the student time to adjust to college life, school, and building up their bodies.
Saban did give Tua most of his Freshman year to adjust and play behind Hurts until the very last game so he did not become a starter until his Sophmore year.
Bad injuries happen all the time in football.

satan, i mean saban sold his soul to tua's family. tua's younger brother will be the starter next yr!
After the stupid move Saban made by having Tua in a game where Bama was up 4 touchdowns to " practice a 2 minute drill", if I were Tua's family I'd get the heck away from Saban as quickly as possible. What a knucklehead !

Nick Satan's arrogance and stupidity will probably result in a career ending injury for Tua Tagovailoa:mad: The health of your starting quarterback in more important than impressing voters and making the Playoffs:rolleyes:

Exactly. Namath and Stabler are the only two Bama qbs to make a name in NFL that I can recall. Anyone else?

Most coaches let their starters play until at least halftime during blowout games.

Might as well wrap everybody in bubble wrap then. It was a freak injury that was unrelated to anything previous.

Seriously? With the way Tua’s dad is, Tua probably wanted to play because his dad would berate him for not.

Why not pull him at 28-7? Or after the 1st quarter? Or bench him completely?

There's nothing easier than having an opinion after the fact.
True. I said before the game I wouldn't have started him. I would've wanted him healthy for Auburn and a possible playoff spot. I said the same thing about Maurer starting against Bama. Felt like we needed him healthy for the last 5 games. It's a tough sport and injuries happen, but when you put a player out there who is less than 100 percent, it's hard for him to make plays AND defend himself. Saban's response was idiotic. Tua needs to practice the 2 minute drill? Just tell me you thought the game was still in question. I might have bought that.

Freshman weren't eligible in any sport until 1968. Then that restriction was lifted for all sports except football and basketball. In 1972 they let freshman play in those two sports. Just in time for Ernie and Bernie and Stanley Morgan, but one year too late for Condredge.
