Salter released from team

UT AD statement translation:

"After taking a respectful amount of time to investigate the circumstances and assess all the facts, we issued a context-free statement distancing ourselves from the individual and the inevitable conclusion with regard to his future here."

Some people let the bad influences in their lives override the good influences in their lives.
Selfishness is usually the culprit.
Hopefully a good influence can get through to this young man before too much damage is done.
He may be able to make an about face and straighten his life out but he will not be able to on the current path he is on………..

What a complete and total waste of talent and opportunity. I hope the kid gets on track bc this probably will be a moment he looks back on and wonders what could have been for the rest of his life.

Well when weed causes one to lose sight of the ultimate goal then yes weed is a problem. It's harmless when used occasionally or recreationally. I assure you only 1 person in the family does it and it's not the mom, dad, sisters, nor younger brother. Hell the mom doesn't even drink. So the actions shown in Knoxville don't start at home. It isn't condoned. We are extremely disappointed in how things transpired and more so after the support given to Ken during his lengthy hospital stay. Hopefully this is a wake up call but with the amount of interest already shown it may not be as big of one as we would like.
I mean he needs to understand he will run out of chances. I do hope it works out for the kid somewhere. Rather it not be a rival program but really hope he gets his life on track. Best of luck to him and his family.

Enrolled early and never saw the practice field! He will always be remembered for going half on a sack, and puff puff pass dont bogart that hog leg! He had to back up off of it and set his cup down, tangeray and chronic yeah he messed up now.

It's not like he held up somebody at gunpoint and hijacked their car, so he should get an opportunity to get his crap straight and have one more chance. Just somewhere else and not now. We don't need this nonsense.

Care to give us any insight into who has already shown interest?

Big Al's Sub Shop, Domino's Pizza Delivery, couple of local gas stations, few others. I heard he was asking them which would give him the most for his NIL. And that he was considering a holdout for better weed benefits.

I don't get people feeling bad for this kid. He was arrested twice in a short period of time. This did not "happen to him" - it was willful stupidity. Scholarships are such an incredible and valuable privilege - he took a dump on this one and the school. Too bad we can't give him a bill for the $Ks wasted on him. Good riddance.

Too much sugar-coating this. Let’s call it like it is,… kid’s a loser. See ya.

At that age a lot of people think the world revolves around what their crowd thinks of them. It sucks to see them set their potential back years, but he's just immature and selfish .

Don’t feel bad for him, but I do hope he’s able to grow up a bit and get his priorities straight unless he wants to be sitting around when he’s 50 complaining about how his lack of success is someone else’s fault.

Shew, he's not going to want to come to Neyland in a Florida uni. But I doubt he would make it there either.

Yeah the feeling bad for Salter is ridiculous. Don’t give me this oh he was a kid and you made mistakes as a young kid crap. The guy had an opportunity to be a star here. He screwed it up by acting like an idiot. All he had to do was act like a normal person. But he choose to act like a fool. I say good riddance as well.

There is a good chance he goes somewhere else and balls out. He may win the Heisman or something. And if he does then more power to him. But I completely agree with the decision to cut ties with him.

Hopefully he gets his life straightened out and has a good career where ever he goes...The saddest part is that now K-town king has to find himself another QB crush.

I agree. He was only arrested because he tried to ditch the weed. If he was honest with the cop we might not have ever heard about it and he would still be on the team.
Probably. I’m more concerned he was driving around the Strip at 3am in a car with weed with an obscured plate and no brake lights just weeks after he’d been reinstated.
