Sam Pittman to Arkansas? (Merged)

Oh, let the panic brigade march on. Just a leftover symptom of B.V.S.

This is a good thing for Tennessee, because now, Georgia’s O will be weakened at least for the first year! It also is a West hire, so it doesn’t strengthen a team in the East. I don’t know how well Pittman will do. He certainly will build a good OL.

CJC is not going to Arky. Pittman has a tough road filling out his staff as a 1st time hc at a dumpster fire. CLK will have a staff but I don’t look for any coaches leaving another Sec school to join him unless they’re fired. Jmo

Hopefully that would hurt their recruiting especially any Wr’s they are chasing.

I tried finding the post but it’s lost between two threads

Probably not, they’ve got good recruiters the only way they slow down is noticing Smart has peaked and you’ll only get so far under his control.

I’m sure Fromm isn’t returning now and the OL will slide backward without Pittman

247 Trey Biddy says look for Odom as DC, was pretty good at that role IMO...

You gotta start somewhere and if it doesent work he’ll have another paycheck in the same week of getting his last one from Arky. Win win for Pittman.
For Pitman. My post quoted someone saying Chaney would go with him.
It would be stupid to make a lateral move and go there

Ohh, in that case I totally agree.
I don’t see Chaney going if what he said is truth

“I love Knoxville and want to retire here”

Chaney came back to Knoxville for a reason. He and his wife love it here. He and Pittman may be good friends, but I doubt you leave a place you love, with a program that's on the rise and you're largely autonomous in your role as OC anyway. My inner Vegas betting algorithm calculator says it won't happen.

I agree. Didn't know Pittman was a HC candidate. Wonder how Hog fans are taking this?

Yep, can’t imagine hiring an OL coach to be HC but they are desperate. App St coach said no, probably headed to Mizzou. Pittman will grab Chaney as his OC. That’s almost a guarantee.
So he left his good friend, Pittman at UGA, for a slight raise to help rebuild UT. But now you think it’s a guarantee, he gets slightly more money, to go work with his friend for slightly more money? The logic doesn’t check out on this. He is at UT bc that’s where he and his wife want to be.
