It does. Too much sometimes.
I agree to a point, why do all those libs leave those cities to come here? Low taxes is usually high on that list but they come here and want for the same kind of politicians that ran them out of those cities so while I also enjoy sky rocketing home values screw them and their liberal policiesTrue.
But the equity in our homes is the fn bomb.
Shout out to all my neighbors moving in from Chicago, New Jersey, California, New York....
I want to thank you. You over paying, house price jacking, no basic understanding of money, liberals you. Give me that equity. Daddy wants more!
The Bay Area USED to be a great place to spend a few days as a tourist or to travel to on business. We had a few sales meetings there back in the day, but I have not been back in about 10 years and have no desire to navigate the human campers & compost piles. Heck, Houston's almost that bad now too. The last time I went into the main public library in Houston, and this was about 10 years ago, it was early morning right when they opened and one had to wait in line with the homeless to get in... Nowadays my wife goes into town on a regular basis because our son is a student at Rice, and there are areas near downtown she's scared to drive through. Couple weeks ago, on a Saturday night after taking our son to dinner, we were headed back to his dorm, on a side street in a posh residential area (not far from River Oaks where the Bush's lived), doing 30-35 mph when a dude in a big pickup truck basically ran us off the road at 80-90 mph followed by two cop cars in hot pursuit. Yeah, Houston's become a cesspool too, and you can have it.Silicone valley drives home prices in SF.
When the tech companies begin leaving SF will fall fast.
Tech companies are already moving into Nashville which is one small reason our housing prices our booming.
SF is beautiful and it’s sad what is happening downtown.

My previous posts long ago in this thread have my take, but you’re right. SF used to be a great city to visit.Love SF in general. Absolutely gorgeous. My last trip was probably more than 10 years ago and the panhandling was insane. Was in a bar when a homeless guy came in hitting up tables aggressively. Verbal fight broke out between people complaining and others defending his right to harass people inside the bar. Just sat back and watched the debate of the city. Looks like the defenders have won.
Outside of Nashville we are fine but Nashville proper is gone they are full lib. What worries me is we all benefit from Nashville growing. If they keep those lib policy voters all confined to Davidson county then we are good, if not then we are screwed.State constitution voids ability to charge a state income tax. Would have to be overturn by majority vote of citizens. Will never happen in our lifetimes.
Williamson county, Wilson, summer are heavy lean republican and not changing.
Now property taxes are changing but city isn’t happening anytime soon in the burbs.
We good guys.

Eventually something has to give tragic wise driving 24 west in the morning is a damn nightmare. I assume same with 65 north in the morning and 65/24 coming from the north into the city

My ex-partner (Taiwanese) moved his family to Palo Alto because he heard the school systems were the best 1,800 sq. Ft. 60 years old. 2.2 million with property tax of 35K annually! Buy a a mansion on the lake here and send your kids to McCallie for Gods sake!
The funny thing to me about people fed up with California and moving is that they don't see a connection between their political beliefs and the things they are upset about (taxes, cost of housing, etc.).Tell him to stay there. We do not need people from Cali moving to Tennessee.
My comment was more in general to Californians moving to Tennessee.
IMO, the thing that shows that Nashville isn't too far gone (at least not yet) is how decisively the campaign for a mass transit system was defeated. It wasn't even close - the Nos had 64% of the vote.Outside of Nashville we are fine but Nashville proper is gone they are full lib. What worries me is we all benefit from Nashville growing. It still amazes me that thing went down, normally libs throwing money at stuff that serve no purposeIMO, the thing that shows that Nashville isn't too far gone (at least not yet) is how decisively the campaign for a mass transit system was defeated. They leave because of those things, then starting demanding policy changes in the new state that lead to the conditions that made them leave in the first place.
It went down because the libs in Davidson County are still outnumbered, at least for now. Most of the support for that I'd assume came from hipsters in East Nashville. Most people south of 440 and north of the city were against that.It still amazes me that thing went down, normally libs throwing money at stuff that serve no purpose
