Agree. It’s a lot of different complex issues and the government can’t fix it. The close you can do is have welfare work requirements, help for the truly needy including homeless families, and creating new psych facilities to permanently house the mentally ill that need it. Both parties caused the opioid crisis and the uptick in the mentally ill population causing issues

California is out of water, in large part due to back-room water right deals. This is more an effect of crony capitalism than socialism.

Then charge people more for usage over certain amounts using monthly totals instead of fining people $1000 for using 56 gallons on laundry day.

What if the person being fined uses 30 gallons per day on average? A load of laundry and a shower in same day gets you fined $1000 for each offense.

If Cali government was truly interested in fixing the problem and changing people’s behavior there are much better ways to do it.

This type of decision will lead to a mass exodus from Cali by a lot of people that prefer freedom over liberal lunacy.

Edit: or $billions in unpaid fines by millions of otherwise law-abiding citizens

I have family there, they love parts of it but hate others. When they visited TN we spent a week at Old Hickory lake with them. They loved it here but they are used to the craziness. They loved how cheap good whiskey was here.

Also..not to beat a dead horse guys but these Bernies and the other "socialists" and "democratic socialists " as they self describe are fooling the youth and many others. What they ask for is not socialism...socialism in a nutshell calls for the people in groups and unions to control the resources, factories, goods and services etc....they call themselves socialist, which in itself is disgusting in America , but what they campaign for is actually communism. Communism is the government controlling all the industry, assets, healthcare, education, and then doling it out to everyone "for free"...this is what they propose...I have yet to see a single lib candidate stump for the people to control anything at all! They want everyone to put their trust in the all knowing government and let it decide what's best. Its classic misdirection.

Call it what it is. Communism. Government control. Government controls healthcare. Government education makes "free college" for everyone. Government gives handouts. AOC herself even said anyone who needs a job can have a gov job!!!!

Nevermind the fact that even Stalin and Lenin admitted that socialism was just a stepping stone to communism...which ALWAYS ends up in oligarchy or dictatorship in the end....these modern day Dems want to jump straight into communism while just labeling it "socialism" and bank on the fact that Americans are too ignorant to know the difference!!!!

Call it what it is. Communism. Makes me sick to think of all the men who served and died to stop the spread of this disease ideology...only to see it shamelessly peddled now here at home.

Country is hyper materialistic and has lost almost all reality.

50 year loans on homes in Cali now.

The only fix is work hard, sacrifice, live within your means, have a little luck and make enough money to make your life that much better, whatever that "enough" is to you.

Most people are their own worst enemy, and ultimately, are responsible for, and deserve, what their actions yield.

Make more spend more, save little to nothing, and ultimately have very little to show for it.

Let’s do a hypothetical....

Let’s say we both make well over 400k a year.

We still can’t afford to live in a notmal sized home in California that is in a good neighborhood.

How many people can afford a house that cost 4,500,000? And that doesn’t get you a mansion there. Just a normal 3,000 sq ft home with a decent yard.

I have a buddy who was making 380 in silicone valley and was going under. Had a small 1,400 sq home that was almost 2,000,000.

After being there 10 years he moved back to Ohio and took a job making about 180 and banks in Colimbus now. Owns a house in New Albany that’s about 3,800 sq ft and paid 600k.


Home prices are insane in Cali.
