A Chicago-area town hall erupted into chaos recently after South Shore leaders announced that they would be receiving just 250 to 500 illegal immigrants at a local facility. Residents launched into apoplectic rage, demanding to know why they weren’t consulted. In another instance, a local alderwoman proclaimed to cheers that Chicago’s broader emergency doesn’t denote an emergency for their community, a clear message of “not in my backyard.”

Democrat-run cities and states have lined up in recent years to loudly declare their status as "sanctuary" jurisdictions for illegal immigrants. It's become a requisite virtue signal among progressives. But what happens when uncontrolled illegal immigration starts to impact these places in ways that the progressives who run them never intended and cannot handle? The point was to posture about "compassion" and telegraph disapproval of the "harsh" immigration policies of the "bad" people. The point was not to actually have to deal seriously with the crush of a crisis caused by politicians who share their empty posturing. Blue mayors blasted the last administration at every turn, as was the norm among Democrats, and they've ripped into GOP governors who've sent relatively small numbers of illegal immigrants from the current crisis to their cities.

It was all good when illegals were somebody else's problem. So easy to be a good dem as long as the dems are screwing over other people, but make it personal, and that's different.

In the ongoing war for what is billed as the rights of transgender Americans — which apparently include allowing children to make life-altering decisions — officials in Kansas City Missouri have declared that city to be an LGBTQ+ and Transgender sanctuary city. This means that the city will provide a safe haven for transgender people who are seeking so-called gender-affirming care, as well as those who would provide that care. Such care would include puberty blockers, hormones, or surgery.

But if that wasn’t peak irony, we reached it on Friday after residents held a large protest rally in which one speaker cited what sounds awful like “replacement theory” as a reason the illegal immigrants shouldn’t be allowed in their neighborhood.

SPEAKER: Politically, having over 500 people in the community would completely wipe out any interest we have. Are you aware that they are immigrant advocates at state houses all over this country who are, who are advocating for non-citizen voting in local elections? What if that happened here? That would change the mindset of what we, as a black community, need to thrive here in Chicago. That’s a concern of ours. This is much bigger than the Mayor of Chicago, or Chicago Police Department. This is an effort to destroy our neighborhood and silence our voices even further.​

Chicago’s Brandon Johnson: ‘Wicked,’ ‘Unconscionable’ for Texas to Send Border Crossers to Sanctuary Cities

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson (D) says it is “wicked” and “unconscionable” for Texas to bus thousands of border crossers and illegal aliens to the sanctuary city.

This week, on his first official day as mayor, Johnson visited border crossers and illegal aliens who are living inside city police stations on the ground.

During the visit, Johnson said politicians “that are using the lives of individuals as a way to score some political points with a certain segment of the population in this country,” in a veiled attack on Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R), who has bused thousands of border crossers and illegal aliens to Chicago and other sanctuary cities since mid-2022.

“It’s wicked, it’s unconscionable,” Johnson said of Abbott’s migrant busing operation.

During his inaugural address, Johnson seemingly welcomed waves of illegal immigration to Chicago just as the city’s black residents on the South Side have protested and are suing to protect their neighborhood from becoming a migrant dumping ground.

Texas announces first bus of Immigrants To Denver, vows to continue until Biden acts

Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX) announced on Thursday that the first of multiple buses of immigrants arrived in Denver, Colorado. This comes days after Title 42's end.

The Texas governor vowed to continue sending buses of immigrants to sanctuary cities across the country until President Joe Biden and his administration act on the concerns at the southern border.

Illegal Alien, Freed into U.S., Convicted of Beheading Patriotic Legal Immigrant Woman Who Changed Name to ‘America’

An illegal alien, released into the United States in 2012 from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody, has been convicted of beheading 55-year-old America Mafalda Thayer, a legal immigrant from Cuba.

Alexi Saborit-Viltres, a 42-year-old illegal alien from Cuba, was convicted of first-degree murder for beheading Thayer with a machete in July 2021 in Shakopee, Minnesota. Saborit-Viltres was supposed to be deported a decade ago, but ICE agents were unable to obtain travel documents for him.

Thus he was released from ICR custody on an order of supervision in 2012.

NYC faces restraining order from town refusing to accept buses of migrants: 'Utter lack of leadership'

As the migrant crisis continues to affect New York City, Mayor Eric Adams is now planning to move migrants into the suburbs and to upstate New York.

"He's (Mayor Adams) created this crisis for himself in New York City. The future leaders in or the past leaders in New York City, they're the ones that declared themselves a sanctuary city. And they welcome these migrants in. It's a complete shame and an utter lack of leadership that they haven't been able to take care of them and are passing this crisis on to other communities," said Town Supervisor Nick Paro.

Report: Illegal Alien Rape Suspect Freed by Obama’s DHS, Stayed in U.S. Thanks to Sanctuary County

An illegal alien, charged with raping a teenage girl and a woman at a Maryland hiking trail, was reportedly released into the United States by former President Obama’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) before taking advantage of a local sanctuary policy to stay in the U.S. after a criminal conviction.

Jose Roberto Hernandez Espinal, a 20-year-old illegal alien from El Salvador, was arrested and charged with first-degree rape, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, armed robbery, and kidnapping for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl and a woman at a hiking trail in Montgomery County, Maryland.

Jon Feere, Director of Investigations at the Center for Immigration Studies and a former Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) official in the Trump administration, reports that Espinal was released into the U.S. in 2013 by Obama’s DHS before carrying out an extensive violent crime record.
