Sanders is the problem

Don you can say Sanders sucks all you wants and in some situations I would agree with you because like I said in a previous post on this thread that I am no Sanders fan at all....But you can't blame that game being close on Sanders....He called the plays and expected us to execute them without making mistakes and that's now how it went....Ainge threw 2 INT's and Clausen threw 1 which wasn't his fault...To blame this game on Sanders is BS

To be honest, I was not impressed with our playcalling yesterday.

By no means was I either but we can't blame our poor performance on the field on Sanders....But, he wasn't out there trying to make the plays for us

We executed poorly, I know. But it seemed like we had four plays yesterday:

Run left, run right, screen, and maybe a throw over the middle if we're really feeling ballsy.

His job is to intrepret what the defense is doing and counter that with an effective response. He cannot see, read or "feel" what is happening from the defense during a game. He could not as a player and cannot as a coach. That is not negative, just the fact. He has no intuition for the game.

I think that they were holding out for Florida....Why show your cards now? I may be wrong but if it was me, I wouldn't show my hand the 1st week of the season, ya know? The best thing is the element of surprise and that may be what we need to beat Florida.

And it would be fine if we were dominating... But when you realize you're on your heals against Alabama at freakin' Birmingham, you need to get creative to bring in the win. We truly were lucky to walk out of Neyland with the win.

Sarge has it ALL figured out here boys.

Lets just forfiet the rest of the games and save all the heartache. Sanders is going to cost us all the games anyway, since he can't read a defense and he never has been able to.

Sometimes though Milo, its better to be lucky than good....Even if it is against UAB....Remember, you can beat good but you can't beat lucky

I seriously doubt 'lucky' will happen 12 more times this season

oh it won't.......We'll be good enough later in the year we won't have to worry about games like that....We've always been slow to start....That's just UT tradition more or less...I'm not going to worry too much about our performance yesterday because we all know we're better than that....Florida and LSU will tell us what we need to know about our team

I never said such a thing BUT, every game we win is in spite of him. Our athletes keep him his job!!! Of the coaches across this land who call plays { Carroll, Weiss, Spurrier, Richt and on and on and on} he is THE worst.

LOL

You're damn right he is not as good as Carroll (Two back to back MNC's and a pro job) Weiss (Winner of what, 3 Super Bowls) Spurrier (A National Title Winner, Heisman Winner, and maybe THE BRIGHTEST OFFENSIVE MIND) and Richt (OC of one of the most gifted teams (FL ST.) and then Coach of an SEC Champion team).

Who the hell would you replace him with.......Jesus??

IT's no wonder you think he sucks if you are expecting him to be as good as those people.

Ever heard of David Cutcliffe? There are hundreds and hundreds of coaches past and present from the NFL who could and would take that job. [all who have forgotten more than RS will ever know} Phil loves having a whipping boy who cannot challenge his position on the Hill.

See. I pegged him.

We could invite Majors back, but we just don't have the money available for the alcohol budget.

If your expectations are no higher than having RS as our OC then that explains our problem.

People...! :banghead:

Different game plans for different opponents and we have adapted to the game PLENTY of times with this coaching staff. We WON'T see that lack of imagination on offense against the gators and tigers. Anyone remember '01 in the swamp? We came out with a game plan not seen previously that year, started with the pass to open up the run, it worked brilliantly. Last year against the gators, we adapted to what we had (2 FR QBs) and generally had success on offense. Even in '03, after little success in the first half, we adapted to the game and scored some points in the second. Our inadequacies in the UAB game resulted from poor execution and lack of focus 90%, vanilla play calling 10%. We won't suffer from lack of focus at gainesville.

Fulmer is one of the winningest coaches in football. He wins games, period. He won yesterday, period. When we start losing games we shouldn't lose consistently, then we have a problem. Wake up and smell the friggen coffee, and wait until we lose to b!tch.

Answer The Question.

WHO WOULD YOU HAVE HERE......BESIDES JOHNNY.

We all know, it's five o clock somewhere, and Johnny would spend more time looking for that, than coaching the team.

I think the winning % is important and impressive, but I believe that UT doesn't have enough championships to show for it...
