Answer The Question.

WHO WOULD YOU HAVE HERE......BESIDES JOHNNY.

We all know, it's five o clock somewhere, and Johnny would spend more time looking for that, than coaching the team.

I never said I was a Majors guy, u said that. As I said earlier there are hundreds of former NFL coaches that forgot more than RS will ever know. Check out the RS pedigree and tell me where he could have learned anything. He played, excuse me couldn't play, for Majors for christ sakes. Does that say enough?

OH, you're a Majors guy. I can spot um a mile away. They are the ones that don't really understand the changing face of College Football, and INSIST that Tennessee could do "much better".

Truth is, they just don't understand, and they can't understand why Fulmer is able to win at a MUCH higher level than Johnny did, because hell, Johnny "WAS IS AND ALWAYS WILL BE TENNESSEE FOOTBALL".

Right.

I'm betting there are a few people reading this that think I'm funny.

Not as funny as you and what you think about our (note OUR, not YOUR) football team, but they might be enjoying it just a little bit.

Your wasting my time. This photo shows Clausen and Fulmer are trying to figure out what the world is Sanders trying to get done anyway.

He is my friend but not the man I think should be coaching our team. He is a hell of a lot better than RS though, you can bet that!

1. I am not now or have I ever been a Sanders man
2. What happened yesterday cannot be blamed on Sanders
3. Sanders does not throw passes
4. Sanders does not catch passes and obviously nether do UT's WR's
5. UAB played a soft and deep 2 deep zone which is not conducive to Long passes.
6. Sanders was not responsible for the weak performance of the O-line, nor was he responsible for Riggs getting out of rhythm which hurt the Offense in the 2nd and 3rd qtrs. Actually Yancey and Foster saw the holes better than Riggs did

The only problem I had wiht his playcalling yesterday was the continued calling of the WR slip screen

Remember the 1 time UAB played press coverage UT burned them for 53 yards.

Beat your heads against the wall all you want fellow VOLUNTEER fans.

But I tell you what, my morning was probably a whole lot brighter this AM than a lot of SOONER fans.

Great point 67 :good:

This is an issue that I have been turning around in my head, and I wanted y'alls take on it. For Tennessee's great winning record in the Fulmer era, there really is a suprising lack of championships to show for it. Why does everybody think this is? I don't really have as much historical perspective as some others on here..

Well lets see here. Lets compare CPFs ERA against other GREAT eras:

Spurrier- 12 years at UF- 1 MNC

Bowden- A Million years at FSU- 2 MNCs

Osborne- 29 Years at Nebraska - 3 MNCs (maybe more I cant remember)

CPF- 14 years at UT- 1 MNC

We could count Miamis MNCs, but every one of them seems to be followed up by a scandal involving the coach.

Who else?

I'm talking about more than MNC's. Division and Conference titles as well.

Well, ok, a little more research but Im game.

But take note, some of the "greats" of the modern era of football arent much better than CPF.

Not really fair to compare conferences when OTHER conferences are all weaker than the SEC.

Bowden winning conference titles in the old ACC isn't special.

Stoops winning Big 12 Tittles isn't special.

Carrol winning Pac-10 titles isn't special.

Spurrier winning SEC titles before the SEC became the top conference it is today, isn't special.

Fulmer doesnt win as many conference titles because the level of competition in the SEC is FAR BETTER than any other conference.

HANDS DOWN.

I know... Fulmer is still a great coach, and an .800 over a decade doesn't just happen. But I would expect more than 2 conference championships in that time period. I suspect the answer is that Spurrier had our number, but I'm not too sure.

Well, NOT being able to beat UF from 93 to 97 (5 games) hurt CPFs title numbers. UT finished 2nd to UF in every one of those years. I am also counting years when we would be tied with UF but UF getting the SECCG because of the head-to-head tie breaker.

Since his first SEC title (1997), CPF has won 2 SEC Championships, 4 East championships, 1 MNC. Not bad when you consider, as Beltway pointed out, we play in the nations toughest conference. Look at the SEC Western champions since 1992 (when we split into 2 divisions). There is no continuity whatsoever. That division is up for grabs every year.

But the East has been top heavy, between UT, UF and UGA. Problem is, as soon as we got the UF monkey off our back, we started a slide against UGA.

Point is UT has always been in the mix since CPF took over.

To say it is Sanders' fault is just being wishy washy. If he had ran the exact same plays and we won by 25, he would have been a great coordinator and if the players had executed we would have won by 25. Anyway, the coordinators simply reflect the head coach's desires. If Fulmer had Steve Spurrier as offensive coordinator, we would run basically the same plays Sanders runs because that reflects Fulmer's thoughts on offense and I generally support both.

Well said. No one yet has told me what they would do differently. Don't just say "throw deep". Tell me specifically...what routes would you run?...out of what sets? Somebody give me a specific point in the game where you didn't agree with the play call. Tell me what you would have run instead..what set would you have run it from and why you would have run that rather than what was called. Everyone just says "I don't like the play . The play calling sucks. Sanders sucks." TELL ME SPECIFICALLY WHAT YOU'D DO DIFFERENTLY AND WHY. Until you've been in practice everyday...until you've set through meeting after meeting on Sunday...until you've been on the sideline calling a game..UNTIL YOU KNOW THE NAME OF A PLAY!!! (and "up the middle isn't a play") shut up!!!!!!!!!!
