Sarah Huckabee-Sanders Asked to Leave Restaurant

Mike Huckabee can piss off. He has no room to talk about harassing people and denying their equal rights under constitutional law. He's a bigot, hypocrite, and a liar.

Huckabee’s hilarious, plus a good morally sound person.
IMO you’re way off basis, but that’s just me. It would be funny to see y’all debate on air. How long would you last, before caving you think?

If only the "that was in my past; I've changed" was accepted across the board when it comes to allegations of racism.

50+ years of "on the record" redemption earned his 100% rating from the ncaap. Walking the walk, as they say.

I've stated this before on the subject, forgiveness for Byrds bigotry can only be granted by those who were wronged.

And you have nothing to prove it with aside from the word of a sanctimonious, pathological bigot. Got it.

Other than the protestors themselves, others in the restaurant, the guy that relayed the story etc, I'm not sure who can corroborate the incident.

I don't disagree with any of that.

But can you imagine anybody with an R after their name lasting 5 seconds after this was uncovered?

In 1944, Byrd wrote the following in a letter to Senator Theodore Bilbo: "I shall never fight in the armed forces with a Negro by my side ... Rather I should die a thousand times and see Old Glory trampled in the dirt never to rise again, than to see this beloved land of ours become degraded by race mongrels, a throwback to the blackest specimen from the wilds." Byrd filibustered the 1964 Civil Rights Act for 14 hours

His yuck yuck, I'm a funny Southern dude thing wouldn't work with me, I'm from the South.

But he would get the better of me in a debate because he would constantly go back to Christianity. He was a pastor, correct? I wouldn't be able to debate the finer points of his Baptist (I think) faith.

Sure I can, absolutely - in the 50's n' 60's - as was the case for him.

It's a different time now, I'm simply pointing out that invoking Byrd as THE poster child of democratic racism is straight up ignorant given his evolution.

Wish Trent Lott had received the same forgiveness - he wasn't even ever in the Klan. He just happened to be Republican.

Sure...

His Congressional voting record bought that, nothing more, nothing less.

How is this remotely similar? As stated, Byrd earned his redemption over five decades - what did Byrd do that was equitable?
